Parent Volunteers for Events


Below are the Davis Combined Junior High Orchestras events with the number of parents needed to help along with the current status. There are at least 60 shifts that need to be filled with parent volunteers. Please consider signing up for one or more shifts.

Some of the times have not been finalized yet.

Sunday, March 18 Rehearsal at the IPAB: **ALL slots have been filled, thanks
Setup and Intermediate chaperone 2 parents
Advanced chaperone and cleanup 1 parent

Saturday, March 24 Music Festival at the IPAB:
Advanced: 7:45-10:30 (or possibly 11:00) 2-3 parents needed
Intermediate: 9:45-12:30 (or possibly 1:00) 2-3 parents needed

Friday, March 30 Jammies at the Mondavi:
Advanced: 4:30-until end of entire show 3-4 parents needed
**parents will receive a complimentary ticket to watch the remainder of the performance with the students in the designated area. It is an experience seeing “backstage activities” at a professional event!

Sunday, April 1 Rehearsal at the IPAB:
Setup and Intermediate chaperone: 1:00-4:00 2 parents needed
Advance chaperone and cleanup: 3:40-6:30 1 parent needed

Saturday, April 28 Wennberg Concert at the Mondavi (concert begins at 2:30 pm):
Intermediate chaperone: times have not been finalized 3 parents needed
Advanced chaperone: times have not been finalized 3 parents needed
** parent chaperones will receive a complimentary ticket to watch the remainder of the performance with the students in the designated area
**other volunteers will be needed but positions have not yet been announced, ie: photo orders, lobby assistance, etc.

Sunday, May 6 Rehearsal at the IPAB:
Setup and Intermediate chaperone: 1:00-4:00 2 parents needed
Advance chaperone and cleanup: 3:40-6:30 1 parent needed

Monday, May 7 Morning rehearsal at Harper JH gym for All District Strings concert:
Set up: 6:45 AM 2 parents needed
Chaperone: 7:15-9:30 am 1-2 parents
**volunteer parent drivers will also be needed to return Jr High students back to Holmes and Emerson

Tuesday, May 8 Morning rehearsal at Harper JH gym for All District Strings concert:
Set up: 6:45 AM 2 parents needed
Chaperone: 7:15-9:30 am 1-2 parents

Wednesday, May 9 All District Strings Concert at Harper JH Gym:
Set up: time not set, approx 6:00 pm 2 parents
Chaperone: 6:45 to end of performance 3-4 parents

Saturday, May 12 Music in the Parks:
Chaperone all day trip to Santa Cruz: **All slots have been filled

Sunday, May 20 Rehearsal at the IPAB:
Setup and Intermediate chaperone: 1:00-4:00 2 parents needed
Advance chaperone and cleanup: 3:40-6:30 1 parent needed

Wednesday, May 23 Finale Concert at the IPAB:
Setup: approx 5:30 pm (time not finalized) 3 parents
Intermediate chaperone: 5:30 (time not finalized) 3 parents
Advanced chaperone: 5:30 (time not finalized) 3 parents
Help in foyer/hand out programs: 6:00 pm 4-5 parents
Take down: 2 parents
**more help will be needed, but positions have not been finalized. ie: concessions, etc
