Hate Crime Presentation
Did you know that young people are the most likely group to commit hate crimes across the country? Did you know that hate crimes committed by young people are thought to be the easiest to prevent? Did you know that there were two more hate crimes committed by students in Davis in December?
How can we respond as parents to help prevent more? Davis Blacks for Effective Community Action (BECA) will host: "Aren't All Crimes Hate Crimes? No! Preventing Student Hate Crimes in Davis” on Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at Harper Junior High School.
Jann Murray-Garcia, M.D., M.P.H. will conduct the presentation. Superintendent Hammond and a representative from the Davis Police Department will be in attendance. Join us - and bring your secondary students. Contact Dr. Murray-García at 753-7443 or jmurgar@comcast.net for questions.
