The article notes that, *“19 percent of households in New Mexico... lack
access to high-speed internet service.”* *John, this is unacceptable.*

Connecting to broadband has implications beyond basic communication. It’s
vital to our kids’ access to educational opportunities, and it’s used in
hospitals to bring better care to communities that are already underserved.

*In southern New Mexico, we’re proud of our way of life and our rural
communities. We don’t want to change it -- we just want to update it.* That
means building infrastructure and making adjustments to better serve rural
residents, not encouraging people to give up their traditions and way of
life.
