<p>Yesterday, President-elect Barack Obama made a clear commitment to "expanding broadband across America, so that a small business in a rural town can connect and compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world."
</p><p>Obama's timing was perfect, as it coincided with the launch of InternetforEveryone.org's online forum (<a href="http://free.convio.net/site/R?i=cXEOfmuqC9mv1C8gdWQ9DQ.." target="_blank">the Digital Town Hall</a>), allowing people from across the country to speak out about the issues they face getting online in their communities. </p>
<p>Your participation in the next town hall meeting and the Digital Town Hall is so important. </p>
<p>Please join a meeting of all InternetforEveryone.org members to discuss our next steps as a coalition. The all-member <a href="http://free.convio.net/site/R?i=g86Imz2Ha9UhttP8wyHK3A.." target="_blank">conference call</a> is on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. PT).
