Davis Democrat Club General Meeting for all members.

We are having officer elections, please attend and vote.

Please find the agenda for this Potluck Meeting below.

Agenda:  The agenda may change as it is worked on by the President,
President Elect and Vice
President.  

              Davis Democratic Club Meeting Agenda 
                Tuesday, February 14, 6 pm - 8 pm
     Place: Blanchard Room of the Davis Branch of the Yolo County Library.  
                315 East 14th Street.

0.  Pre-Meeting Set-up at 5:30PM.

00. During the Potluck from 6PM to 6:45PM
        i.    Sign-in on official Davis Democrat Club attendence ledger
        ii.   Collection of $5 donation for event
        iii.  Pick-up of ballot by dues paying members of the club
              (All people will be checked off of list or will receive a 
               ballot after paying dues)
        iv.   Political candidates and groups can distribute materials on tables
        vi.   Ballots collected and votes counted

Meeting starts at 6:45PM with President Tony Gruska presiding.
I.  Introduction   (10 minutes)
        i.    Approval of Agenda  
        ii.   Minutes and reports from other clubs and campus Democrats
              a. Report from the Woodland and Winters Clubs
              b. Report from Yolo County Young Democrats
              c. Report from UCDavis Campus Democrats
              d. Report on the President's activities for the club
              e. Report on the December meeting of the Yolo County Central
Committee

II.  Treasurer's Report (2 minute)

III. Announcement of new e-mail list for the club at
        davisdemocratclub-announce at velocipede.dcn.davis.ca.us
        (G Richard Yamagata will present) (5 minutes)
        i.    John Chendo, membership chair, will be list moderator
        ii.   Decision on how list membership will be implemented

IV.  Candidates for June Elections invited to address the members 
        (28 minutes -- each candidate will have a period of time to speak as
         determined by the president in respect to the total time allotted
         and the number of speakers present.)

V.   Discussion of endorsement of June Election Candidates by Club Membership.

All times are approximate and only placed to help keep meeting on track, so
people can leave by 8PM.  

Below is the general announcement:

DDC General Meeting for Election of Officers and Endorsement of Candidates

Time: 6 PM to 8:00 PM
Place: Blanchard Room of the Davis Branch of the Yolo County Library.  
                315 East 14th Street.

              Davis Democratic Club Meeting 
                Tuesday, February 14, 6 pm - 8 pm
     Place: Blanchard Room of the Davis Branch of the Yolo County Library.  
                315 East 14th Street.

There will be a potluck on Valentine's Day sponsored by the Davis Democrat
Club starting at 6PM.  This is an event to break bread with fellow Democrats
and discuss the state of the state and the union as we work to successfully
elect a Democrat Governor and host of other Dems for state office.  If
people want to use this opportunity to pass out election and Democratic
party information or articles to the membership, they can do so.  This
should be a fun event with plenty of food.  

Please bring your favorite food you like to cook or prepare or purchase,
either a main dish, salad or dessert to share with 6 to 8 people.  The Club
will provide coffee, cups, forks and spoons and chocolate kisses, and if
they can be found, candied hearts.  The suggested donation at the door will
be $5.  If you need guidance in what food to bring to the event, please
phone Bob Bockwinkel at 219-1896 or G Richard Yamagata at 848-8364.

For the Potluck, the following breakdown is being suggested:  
A-K  Bring a main dish
L-R  Bring a salad dish (green, macaroni, or potato or other)
S-Z  Bring a dessert

The club will also have its bi-annual election of officers.  The business
meeting with the election will start at 6:45PM.  At this time there is no
planned speaker, except for the outgoing and incoming presidents.  Please
come to vote or to turn in your ballot.  The By-Laws allow for nominations
from the floor.  It is expected that the election will take up most of the
hour slated for this meeting.  

While ballots are tabulated, there is one item on the agenda, placed there
by President Tony Gruska, the endorsement of candidates for elected office
or primary candidates in June.  Since the general membership will be at this
meeting, this will facillitate the endorsement of candidates by the Davis
Democrat Club.  We will also explain how the new DDC action bulletin e-mail
list will work.
