Only hours left to DOUBLE every dollar you give. Help Apollo's grassroots fight to keep manufacturing jobs a priority in the Energy Bill! Give before midnight tonight! Dear john, We're hard at work in Senate offices and in key swing states to protect what we've accomplished over the past year. Our work would not be possible without supporters like you ? that's why I'm sending you this email. I want to give you one last opportunity to help make sure we can celebrate when the Senate passes its version of the Energy Bill. Please donate today and your gift will immediately be doubled. Every dollar goes to our grassroots campaign to keep the "Make it in America" plan for 1 million manufacturing jobs in the Energy Bill. The Senate committees working on the bill are hearing a flood of messages from all sides ? especially from a well-funded oil and gas lobby. We have to cut through the din before we can cut to the chase about what we want in the Energy Bill. We know Apollo's message will resonate with lawmakers on the fence because it worked in the House: this is not just about energy; this is about jobs and shoring up our crumbling manufacturing sector. What comes out of the Senate will be critical to our country's economic recovery and energy future. We only have a few hours to reach our $10,000 match goal. These funds support staff on the ground and on The Hill who are building coalitions and talking directly to Senators and their staff. Donate right now to help our grassroots fight for critical "Make it in America" jobs provisions in the Energy Bill. Give now ? every dollar will be doubled. Thank you so much for all that you do. Kaine wrote to you about Republican Senator Jim DeMint's remark to a right-wing group that's spending millions trying to kill health insurance reform. DeMint told them, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him." It's getting worse. On the "Today" show, he refused to back down from those outrageous comments. He's making the rounds on cable news and even launching criticisms of the President from the floor of the Senate. We need to push back immediately to show other Republicans that there's a political price to pay for using the health care debate to make personal attacks on the President, instead of working to bring down costs and cover all of us. So we've created a new ad that we're running in Senator DeMint's home state of South Carolina. It has a simple but forceful message: Senator DeMint is trying to score political points at any cost, even if it means that his constituents continue to suffer under a broken insurance care system. It's a tough ad that's sure to get noticed, but only if we have the resources to keep it on the air. Can you help? Chip in $25 to make sure South Carolina voters see the truth about Jim DeMint and his attacks on the President. Republicans in Washington like DeMint have made it clear that they have no intention of fixing our health care system -- only to block progress. A leading GOP political strategist, Bill Kristol, even urged his fellow Republicans to "resist the temptation" to be "constructive or, at least responsible," and instead work only to kill health insurance reform. They're putting politics before people and doing everything they can to maintain the status quo. But unless we act this year, more Americans will lose their coverage, more businesses will close their doors, and rising costs will continue to explode our nation's deficit. Congress is making the critical decisions on health insurance reform as we speak, so it's especially important that all of us send a strong message today to Senator DeMint, his insurance-company allies, and every Republican blocking reform: We won't cave to your blatant political games. The American people voted for change, and we're not about to let you stand in the way of it becoming a reality. Can you donate $25 to help get this ad on the air? http://www.democrats.org/demint Thanks, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon Executive Director Democratic National Committee Paid for and authorized by the Democratic National Committee, www.democrats.org .
