New Jersey is still reeling. North Carolina is just starting to pick up the pieces. But Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is already taking Hurricane Irene's victims hostage. Truly, Mr. Cantor has no shame. It's outrageous to take advantage of the urgent needs of hurricane survivors in order to advance his radical crusade to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. But that's exactly what one of the top Republicans in Congressional leadership is doing with his refusal to allocate money to disaster relief unless Congress first offsets that money with cuts to vital government programs. I just signed a petition telling Eric Cantor to release the hostages and stop blocking funds for urgently needed disaster relief. You should sign the petition too. Click below to take action. http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/cantor_irene/?r_by=-576973-3lis ppx&rc=mailto1 Best wishes for a Good Labor Day weekend celebrating American labor, labor unions, and American jobs which will benefit the public good and the common wealth of our country. Suzanne is up against the critical Sept. 30 filing deadline, and every single dollar you give is going to make a difference in her race to win on November 8. Here's the latest: * Suzanne is the first and only candidate with an ad up on the air. * She can stay up on the air and get her GOTV plan in full gear if we can get her this money. * It's got to happen now -- this is a vote-by-mail election, and voters start casting ballots in 3 weeks. This is a huge opportunity for us to add another pro-choice Democratic woman to the House, and Suzanne would be the only woman member of Oregon's Congressional delegation. Let's make it happen. Click here to make a contribution before midnight tomorrow to help Suzanne Bonamici win -- 100% of your gift goes directly and immediately to her campaign. We are so close to our goal, and I know you will come through and put us over the top. Thanks so much, Jonathan Parker Political Director EMILY's List P.S. Friday at midnight is a crucial filing deadline and Suzanne needs your support immediately. Contribute today. Make sure you receive email updates from EMILY's List.
