Dear Democratic friends: There are two events coming up in Sacramento that deserve more  publicity-

a) Mr. Ed Asner is performing on stage at the Crest Theater on Monday evening, November 4,beginning at 7:30pm.  a one-man play presenting the character of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Tickets may be purchased on line. 

b)Sister Simone Campbell, a Roman Catholic nun  of the Sisters of Social Service and a California lawyer who graduated from UC Davis Law School, will be speaking on  Wednesday evening,October 30,beginning at 7pm,  at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in downtown Sacramento. Open to the public. She will be speaking about the "Nuns on the Bus" who rode through the Midwestern states  in 2012  in opposition to  Paul Ryan's "austerity" budget cutting services to the poor. She will be advocating   for comprehensive immigration reform. She spoke at the Democratic National Convention during the summer of 2012.

Dear Democratic friends:  Two inspiring events in Sacramento coming up-

A) Sr. Simone Campbell, of "The Nuns on the Bus," recipient of the Roosevelt Institute's Four Freedoms Award, and the Dr. Martin Luther King lecturer on Social Justice at UC Davis Law School, will speak at St. Francis Church in downtown Sacramento at 7pm tonight. Her topic is the intersection of law and politics:  lobbying the U.S. Congress for immigration reform and a fair budget for the common good of the 100% of our society. She was a family law attorney for 18 years, and testified before Paul Ryan's House Committee on the Budget. She spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2012. She has appeared on TV with Bill O'Reilly, Lawrence O'Donnell, Stephen Colbert, and Bill Moyers. On Tuesday she engaged with an overflow audience at UC Davis Law School.
