By in large the Sunday night move went well, although some unanticipated issues
arose with the POP server which took an extra 60 or so minutes to fix. The new
system was available at about 11:15 pm Sunday evening

The support situation is as follows:

It seems that some passwords didnt copy through
correctly, we believe this to be due to differnet
interpretations of the special characters (!,$), or a buggy copy in
particular passwords. Changing them back has resolved
that issue. The other support event were lots of
technically incorrect POP server settings like,
dcn.davis.ca.us, dcn.org, or pop.dcn.org.

On the web server side some of the old cgi-bin directories and
their symbolic links didnt work properly on the new
system and had to be fixed on the fly throughout the
day. FTP services have stopped for today and will be
restored tomorrow.

Im sure we will be handling support calls over the week but considering what
could have gone wrong, Im able to deal with that.

As far as performance goes the max system load avg has
been 0.04, cpu got to about 3%, no SWAP is being used,
RAM is handling everything. Its orders of magnitude
better.

What remains to be moved are Virtual host web sites,
RADIUS dialup authentication, and some minor admin
material needs updating. Then we will be on to
enhanced services after we monitor the current system
for a period of time for any issues
