[Dhsbb-concert] NY fundraising update

Happy Holidays everyone!

I wanted to give you one last NY trip fundraising update for 2017.  Between the Tea Party, Rent-a-Band, and Panda's, so far we've raised bout $10,000 toward our $17,000 goal. 
 38 students (out of the 68 going) who participated in the tea party raised $9,500! Thanks to all those families that participated.  More fundraisers to come, stay tuned in 2018. 

For those who did not participate in the Tea Party, I want to clarify some misunderstandings or misgivings that may have prevented you from participating.  First of all, there is no deadline for sending these out.  If your kids say they missed it, it's not too late! The only reason I had that deadline was to inspire everyone to get it done ASAP and so I could have most of them ready for a work party to send them all out. 

I also heard concerns from those very uncomfortable about reaching out to family and friends for donations, and of course that is each's personal decision.  But we never said it had to be just family and friends...it can be your dentist, optometrist, lawyer, personal banker, insurance agent, real estate agent, etc.  (Just don't ask Drs Molitor or Madelaris, they've already contributed).  

So if your family has not participated, please reconsider. I can still get you packets to do so.  I know finals are coming up and everyone's super busy, but you can do it during the latter part of the winter break, or when school starts again.
