I was really surprised to see that up to 4% of all purchases that are credited to a scrip card would go to the DHS Band! This means that for a family of four people that spends $5/day per person on food and household supplies, $24 of the $600 in monthly purchases at Nugget would go to the DHS Band! That is about $300 per year! If there are 33 band families who regularly shop at Nugget, or one-third of the total band families, that would be $10,000 per year out of money that we are spending anyway! </span></div><div dir="ltr" id="yiv0751283313yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1540741760286_3786"><span><br clear="none"></span></div><div dir="ltr" id="yiv0751283313yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1540741760286_3786"><span id="yiv0751283313yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1540741760286_3855">Nugget is really generous for contributing 4% of their revenues from purchases credited to the scrip card. All we have to do is to to help them help DHS by getting and using a scrip card. For band families who regularly shop at Nugget Market, this is a great way to contribute to the DHS Band program, but it takes a number of us to make this a high impact program for the Band. So, if you have a Nugget scrip card already, don't forget to use it!
