Greetings to Jazz Band Parents,

The Reno Jazz Festival competition (April 23-25) is approaching and it is time to rally drivers for our students. We will have need for approximately 36 people plus instruments and a small piece of luggage for each. Please note: you do not have to be a chaperone to drive.

I am writing now to survey how many parents are willing to commit to driving up to Reno on Friday morning (DHS Jazz Band performance time is 3:45pm) and staying for the duration to be available for shuttling the students around through Saturday evening. The Saturday evening concert is a callback concert so we will only stay if we play. Otherwise we will leave sometime during the Saturday daytime.

I am also requesting any drivers who will be able to drive one leg of the trip.

****It is imperative that each parent respond to this email to let me know that your student musician will be attending this trip and if you are planning on transporting your student back and/or forth to and/or from Reno.****

(Please note: students must travel with the group; students are not allowed to arrange their own transportation independent of the rest of the Jazz Band).

Please respond to this email ASAP and indicate each of the following:

1. If you are able to drive at all.

2. Exactly when you are able to drive

3. How many seats you will have available and storage space for luggage and instruments.

Thank you for your continued support as this opportunity to compete in the Reno Jazz Festival competition is very an exciting and very important opportunity for the DHS Jazz Band.

Please feel free to call me if you need to discuss the transportation situation.
