The Festivity of Bands – Wednesday February 29, 7:00 p.m.

Three great band programs, one great concert too good to miss! “The Festivity of Bands” concert will feature performances by the music programs at Davis High School (Symphonic Band), CSU Sacramento (Symphonic Wind Ensemble), and UC Davis (Concert Band and Campus Band) on the stage at Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center on Wednesday February 29, 7:00 p.m. The concert will honor Fred Lange, who will be retiring at the end of this year after an illustrious career as director of bands at Davis Senior High. Mr. Lange will conduct the exciting finale, “Legacy” by Julie Giroux, which will be performed by all of the participating musicians playing together as one unforgettable group. This selection reflects the legacy that Fred leaves in the students that he has taught over the years, the musical memories that he has generated for everyone that has been part of one of his bands, and the quality of the band program that he has built at Davis High. You may get tickets through the internet by following the directions

> Mondavi website by entering MOZART in the promo code window -- upper
> right. It will indicate that they are student tickets, but as this
> is the easiest way for us to distribute discounted tickets, Mondavi
> staff will be instructed to accept them from all who present them
> (no ID required). This also results in waiving of the processing fee.
