[Dhsbb-jazz] Call for Silent Auction Items for Evening at Coconut Grove

Dear DHS Band Families, Friends and Alumni,
 
We are soon coming up on one of our most popular annual fundraising events: Evening at Coconut Grove on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Emerson Junior High MPR.  Along with dinner and fun performances by our wonderful band students, the night features a silent auction.  I urge you to consider donating for the silent auction.  Note that your donation will be tax-deductible.  Given that the school district can barely fund more than a few pages of sheet music per student, the funds raised here are critical in supporting the band programs at DSHS.
 
Popular auction items in previous years have been original artwork, restaurant dinners, cabin rentals, wine country tours, golf/tennis lesson, theme gift baskets, etc.  If you have a skill, you could consider donating a few hours of teaching the skill.  This is a wonderful opportunity for musicians to introduce themselves to potential students.  If you know of a group of musicians who would be willing to donate some time playing for a private event, please urge them to donate their services.  Nothing is too large or too small for consideration!
