as a pianist, band leader and composer, he embodied the essence of
mainstream jazz, making him one of the most sought after and recorded Jazz
pianists throughout jazz history.<SPAN> </SPAN>He joined other jazz
greats throughout his career, including Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman,
Artie Shaw, Charlie Parker and Wes Montgomery.<SPAN> </SPAN></P>
