Stern Grove Festival presents an annual favorite, the celebrated San
Francisco Symphony, with conductor James Gaffigan. The afternoon kicks off at
2:00 p.m. with an opening performance by “Inouye Jazz” featuring principal
trumpet player Mark Inouye accompanied by members of the San Francisco
Symphony. At 3:00 p.m., the San Francisco Symphony will perform excerpts from
Tchaikovsky’s <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Swan</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Lake</st1:PlaceType>, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat
minor, Opus 23 with pianist Inon Barnatan, Gershwin’s An American in <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Paris</st1:place></st1:City>, and music by
Leonard Bernstein from the movie On the Waterfront.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
