Hello, everyone!

Just forwarding a message (received by Fred) re
parking in Monterey. Also, we still need some help with transportation
of students to and from Monterey. If you have already replied to my
earlier message, no need to write again - and thank you very much! If
you think you might be able to transport a student or two and haven't
had a chance to respond, please let me know at your convenience. I'll
be getting out the necessary forms soon. Hope you're all looking
forward to this trip as much as I am!

THANK YOU A MILLION!!

Warmest wishes,

Lynne Rumery

Here's what was sent to Fred, then:

Subject: Parking at the NGJF

Hi Everyone,

So looking forward to the start of the Next Generation Jazz Festival in a
few short weeks. In planning ahead, I need to know if you will require
overnight bus parking at our event. As in the past, we have a lot
reserved near the entrance of Municipal Wharf II for busses and/or large
passenger vans. This lot is a few blocks east of the Monterey
Conference Center. The
bus lot is at the right corner of Figueroa and Del Monte Avenue just
before the start of the Municipal Wharf. Of course, band members and
equipment can be dropped off at the front of the Conference Center, so
there is no need to walk with large groups of students. Please let me
know via email if you will need to park your bus in this lot.

For smaller vehicles (under 6’8”), I would recommend using the
Monterey Public Lot or “East Garage” located on Del Monte and Washington
Streets, a stone’s throw from the Conference Center. The cost for this
lot is $7.00 per day as opposed to $10 in the West Garage and $13 at the
Portola Hotel (for a parking garage map, go to the City of Monterey
Parking website).
As always, more NGJF info to follow.
