<DIV>Hi Everyone,</DIV>
<DIV>Our trip is LESS THAN 2 weeks away. Unbelievable!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I have attached a trip itinerary. There may be some minor changes as
we get closer, but nothing should be too different from this plan.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Please note a few things:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Students will bring instruments and music stands to the band room for
loading onto the truck on Wed. May 18th. This is the day the truck is
being packed after school and will begin it's trek to Victoria. Students
may also bring oversized luggage or an extra bag or suit bag if desired for
loading on the truck during this time. We are encouraging everyone to
pack light (they have to be able to carry ALL their stuff after all)
but if someone just has to have extra things, they can put it on the
truck. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Students will check in officially for the trip at DHS 30 - 45 min.
before their carpools will leave for the airport on Thurs. May
19th. During this check in we will be delivering the trip Tee
Shirt (to be worn the next day, so kids will need to save space in their carry
on for this item), and ensuring that they have their passport or
other official travel documents with them as well. Meds will be checked in
with the nurse too. PLEASE don't be late as there will be a lot of kids to
check off, and not much time to do everything. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>FOOD: On Thursday we are asking kids to bring a bag dinner that will
make it through security at the airport. We are not in the regular
terminal, which means there are not many places to obtain food once we arrive at
the airport as you might be used to. The short flights will likely also
not have food to purchase. So unless your child really likes peanuts,
be sure they have enough of a dinner that won't get tossed at
security (no liquids, yogurt, soft fruits...) </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Also remember that we have a concert the day after we return, but
the truck will not be returning until just hours before that concert in
Central Park. So make sure your child has some casual blacks to wear
for the concert - perhaps something saved at home for this purpose? Or an
extra set of clothes packed in their carry on when returning so they can
access it quickly.</DIV>
