	*	Thursday, March 11 is Articulation Day Schedule - 1st Period 7:45-8:26, 3rd Period 8:32-9:52, Break 9:52-9:56, 5th Period 10:02-11:22, 7th Period 11:28-12:28

	*	Attention all 9th, 10th, 11th grade musicians:  Davis High School Orchestra Program will conduct two auditions for 2010-2011. The first audition group is "DHS Symphony Orchestra", which is an advanced level full symphony orchestra open to string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. The second audition orchestra is the "DHS Baroque Ensemble" open to violin, viola, cello, bass and keyboard players who are interested in learning to play the Harpsichord. Auditions will be held in the IPAB, Room PA-3 starting March 18-26.  Sign up deadline has been extended to Wednesday, March 10.  Sign up in your school music room.  If you are unable to decide by March 10th, e-mail Mr. Moreno ASAP at amoreno at djusd.k12.ca.us <mailto:amoreno at djusd.k12.ca.us> or by cell phone at 530-400-7614 to explain your situation.

	*	Juniors: taking the SAT this Spring?  Want access to FREE online SAT test prep materials?  Ask your counselor about Naviance today...
	*	Calling all doodlers!  Enter the Doodle for Google contest where students design the Google logo alongside the theme "If I Could Do Anything, I Would". The winning doodler will have his or her artwork viewed by millions on the Google homepage, win a college scholarship, and earn a computer for the school!  Please see Ms. Diem for details or log on to google.com/doodle4google. Entries are due by March 31st.

	*	Unitrans service on the P/Q buses and other all-day lines will be on special schedules March 16-26, because of UCD finals and spring break. The S and T lines are NOT affected and will run as they normally do. Please consult Unitrans schedules or web page (www.unitrans.com <outbind://20/www.unitrans.com>) or call 752-BUSS for details. Finals service will be running on March 16-19. Break service will be running March 22-23. Saturday/holiday service will be running March 24-26, but with added trips on the P, Q, J, W, and O lines starting at 7:00 and 8:00 am. During the week of March 22-26, Unitrans will run extra buses on the P and Q lines to accommodate dismissal times.The added buses will leave DHS at 2:40 pm Mon-Fri and at 3:40 pm on Mon, Tue, and Friday.

	*	SENIORS:  If you're planning a college visit, please give the attendance office a note prior to the visit.  If the attendance office receives written notice before the visit, it can be cleared as an excused absence.

	*	JUNIORS:  Would you like to participate in an all-expense paid leadership camp this summer?  Camp Royal, funded and run by Rotary District 5160, is a premier leadership-training opportunity for high school juniors. The program, held each June in the mountains of northern California, is a concentrated, energy packed week of information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to his or her school a more effective leader.  This year, Camp Royal 2010 will be held from June 13 - 19.  The deadline to apply is March 19.  Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office for more information.

	*	Are you interested in being in student government next year?  Or maybe class officer?  Class and election applications are now available in the front office.  The applications will be due in C-4 by Friday the 19th.  Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity.

	*	Attention Senior Families:  Now is the time to buy your graduate's reservation for Grad Night 2010 on June 11.  Go to www.davisgradnight.org <http://www.davisgradnight.org> to make your reservation.  Advance sale only $90 or $110 at the door.  See your counselor if you qualify for free lunch and you may be eligible for a scholarship for this activity.

	*	Are you a Latino senior with an interest in the arts, sciences, or humanities?  If so, you may want to apply for the Smithsonian Latino Center's Young Ambassadors Program.  Selected Latino seniors will travel to Washington, D.C. for a weeklong, all-expense paid training and leadership seminar at the Smithsonian Institution, then on to a four-week internship in museums and other cultural institutions.  Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office for more information.

	*	Would you like an internship position this summer?  County of Yolo is offering students ages 15-19 internships in County public service departments, such as Agriculture, Cooperative Extension, Public Health, Administration, Public Works, Employment, Social Services, and Parks and Resources.  Internships are unpaid, but students will receive community service credit.  Deadline to apply is May 14.  Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office for more information.

	*	If you received notification that you were selected as a National Merit Finalist, come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office to pick up your certificate!
