THIS DAY IN HISTORY-1929 American explorer Richard Byrd and three companions make the first flight over the South Pole, flying from their base on the Ross Ice Shelf to the pole and back in 18 hours and 41 minutes.
COLLEGE VISITS - Prior to attending the college visit, students must go to their class and check in with their teachers. Only students who have pre-registered in Naviance will be able to attend the college visit. Only 11th/12th graders may attend a college visit.

-Have you always wanted to take center stage? Don't miss your chance to be part of the fun and excitement of
Davis High Idol 2012! This wildly popular event is nearly here: semi-finals will be held January 20 and 21, with the exciting finals on January 28th. Contestant's applications will be available on Friday, December 2 and are open to students in grades 10-12 at any DJUSD school. Completed applications will be accepted starting at noon on Friday, December 9th. Start listening for that perfect song, and look for more information at www.dhstreblechoir.org<http://www.dhstreblechoir.org> and
also in PA-8.

-Did you know you can save someone's life in less time than it takes to watch a movie? It's true. Giving blood takes about an hour. Your donation is used to help people who need it urgently. The first Davis High School Blood Drive of the year is scheduled for this Friday, Dec 2nd. Giving blood is safe and easy. To donate blood, you must be at least 16 years old (with a parent consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be free from cold or flu symptoms for at least 48 hours. Sign up in the Quad during lunch this week. For more information, please see Mrs. Youtsey in the Nurse's office.

-CHiPS for Kids Toy Drive- Would you like to help make a hospitalized child or a disadvantaged child Happy?
Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the DHS Front office Toy Drive Barrel today thru December 16th. Toys will be delivered to the children just before the holidays.

-DHS Boys Lacrosse Equipment Swap- Buy, Sell, Swap, or Donate. Saturday December 3, 2011 10:00am - 1:00pm

-Junior Prom is Dec 10th.  You can pick-up dance contracts in Room C-4. Guests are required to fill out a guest pass.

-Dixon Rugby Football Club invites Davis Boys and Girls to a rugby mini-camp Saturday and Sunday December 10-11,

-Seniors:  Show all your fellow classmates how cute you were as a kindergartner! Bring in a wallet sized (2x3) photo for the Kindergarten Wall at Grad Night. Drop box is located at the DHS Front Desk.
