THIS DAY IN HISTORY
-1975, a New York State Supreme Court judge reversed a 4-year-old deportation order for John Lennon, allowing him to remain legally in his adoptive home of New York City. John Lennon had begun to associate publicly with radical figures, and the White House reportedly grew concerned over his potentially powerful influence with a generation of 18-to-20-year-olds who would be allowed, for the first time, to vote in the 1972 presidential election. Please send news, announcements, etc. to the DHS PTA Media listserv at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org. Please include your name and a parent or faculty name and contact information (e-mail address and phone number) in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission. Also, please be sure to include a teacher or parent contact and his/her phone number or e-mail address. The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have Internet access or not. The newsletter is generally available around the 15th of each month. This is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.

Students and a parent or gaurdian should attend. The team placed first in the state last year, and we are looking forward to another successful season. -Davis High School Snowboard Team: There is still time to get some information about the DHS Snowboard team for any interested students. The snowboard team is a co-ed team for 9-12th graders who have at least some snowboarding experience. We are a race team, but get coaching in free-style riding, board cross and the terrain park if interested. Come have some fun this winter and improve your snowboarding skills tremendously in 1 season, and make some new friends.
