Hey Boys of Davis High!  Looking for a spring sport?  Interested in playing boys Volleyball?  Pre-season open gym and conditioning starts on January 8th at 2:45 in the small gym.  Check out the Davis High Volleyball Facebook page for more information or talk to Ms. Crawford.



Attention new or returning track and field athletes not participating in a DHS Winter sport, you should attend pre-season track workouts, Monday through Thursday at 4:00 pm.   For more information, visit Coach Elliott in L-25.



LUNCH CHOICES Pizza choice of Vegetarian, Cheese, Pepperoni or Hawaiian.  Pasta Choice is Hot Italian Meatballs over wheat pasta.  Daily offerings include a Winter salad bar with crunch mix and locally-grown fresh vegetables, Deli sandwiches, Breakfast for Lunch, crackers and plain and chocolate milk.

Thinking ahead to a summer job?  The City of Davis is holding a free Job Skills Workshop on Wednesday, January 30 at 4:00 pm in the Veteran's Memorial Center Theatre.  Participants will learn skills for applying and interviewing for any type of job, experience a mock interview, and learn how to make contacts to increase chances of employment.  Come to the Career Center N-17 for more information.



Attention, DHS students who use Unitrans S-Line.  There has been an alteration in the schedule for the S-Line.  Flyers are available in the Front Office detailing the changes in the brochure rack.

The DHS Car Club is for students who have a passion for cars.  The club is open to all DHS students and meets every Tuesday at lunch in the auto classroom O-3.  This year's club t-shirt design contest winner is Sara!  Anyone who would like to order a 2012-13 car club t-shirt should place their order with a car club officer by Tuesday, January 8th.  To pay for your t-shirt, you must bring the total amount to the next car club meeting, Tuesday, January 8 in O-3.  Shirts with the student's name on it are $15.50 each. Without the student's name, t-shirts are $11.50 each.



Lecture Series: If you are interested in the field of Biomedical and Biomedical Engineering, you are invited to join the Healthcare Careers Club on Tuesday, January 8 at lunchtime to hear Dr. Kent Leach present "Tissue Engineering as a Vehicle for Identifying your Career Interests."    If you are interested in a career combining bioengineering with medical research, you should consider tissue engineering.  Researchers in this field work with animal and human cells using techniques common to engineering, medicine and biology to create living tissues.  Dr. Leach works in the UC Davis School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group.



Knock, knock!  Who's there?  I want... I want who?  I want YOU to come to Friendship Day!  Turn in your permission slips to go to Friendship Day by January 10 to go to Friendship Day!  Turn them into the blue tray behind the Front Desk in the office.



Acme Theatre Company cordially invites you to the second show of their season: Radium Girls, a story about a group of women in the 1920s fighting for their rights after being poisoned by radium in their workplace. The Davis High School Cheerleaders will be holding their Cheer Clinic 2013 on Sunday, January 27th from 9 am- 12 pm in the Old Gym on the DHS campus.  Kids ages 6-13 are invited to learn cheers, jumps, tumbling and dance by
the award-winning Davis High School cheerleaders and their coaches!   Cost is $40 in advance, $45 at the event, and includes: T-shirt, small group instruction by age, snacks and beverages, free ticket to the February 1st DHS Men's Varsity Basketball Game for Break the Record Night, and a chance to perform on the court with the DHS Cheerleaders.

Davis Idol 2013 is coming! Who will walk away with the coveted title of Davis High Idol? If you want your chance to shine in the singing spotlight, applications for contestants are available now in PA-8 and on the ATC website: www.dhstreblechoir.org<http://www.dhstreblechoir.org/>. Applications are currently being accepted  in PA-8!  The first 24 completed applications will be accepted and any additional applicants will be wait-listed. The dates for the preliminary rounds are January 25 and 26, with the exciting, red-carpet finale on February 2. Contestants must be current 10th-12th graders enrolled in any Davis high school.

Event and information posting are to be posted on blue walls only.  Please don't post items on blue doors, drink kiosks, our restrooms.  Thank you!
