-For Lunch today we have Chicken Alfredo with fresh veggies, Pork Adobo over local rice or Hamburger with fries.

- AP sign-ups begin today! Sign-ups will run today through Friday at lunch only in the Large Conference Room.  On Thursday March 8th, sign-ups will be after school ONLY until 1:30 (due to Articulation Schedule).  Bring your student ID and $90 cash or check payable to Davis Senior High School.  Test dates are May 7th-18th.


NEW
-Hey!  Are you a talented male at DHS? If so, you should apply to be Mr. Blue Devil!  Applications are available in C-4 and there will an informational meeting Wednesday, March 7 at lunch in C-4!

-Come see the Drama Department's production of 'Tartuffe!'  This hilarious comedy takes place in the 1960s and will be a fun, hippie-filled night of entertainment.  'Tartuffe' opens this Friday, March 9 and will run on Saturday, March 10, Thursday, March 15, Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17.  Show times are 7:00.  There will also be a show on Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $10. for students and can be purchased at the door or in advance from drama students.

-Come to the World Language and Culture Fair on Saturday, March 10 from 12:30 - 4:00 pm in the Old Gym.  There will be dancing and singing and lots of performances.  Play games and enjoy delicious foods!  There is no entrance fee!  Come and have fun and experience different cultures of the world!

-SENIORS: It's scholarship time!  If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships!  Twenty-one local scholarships for Davis Sr. High School students are currently being offered by the Davis community.   Come to the Career Center in N-17 for more information about these and other available scholarships!

-On Thursday, March 8th which is Articulation Day, there will be bag lunches available in the cafeteria after the last bell.

Wednesday, March 7, is the deadline for submitting information and articles for the March 2012 DHS PTA newsletter. Please send news, announcements, etc. to the DHS PTA Media listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org<mailto:DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org>. Please include your name and a parent or faculty name and contact information (e-mail address and phone number) in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission.   The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have Internet access or not. The newsletter is generally available around the 15th of each month and is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.

-Yo Yo Yo!  Friendship Day permission slips are due by Thursday, March 8th.  Get them to the blue Friendship Day box at the Front Desk by then, Blue Crew!

-AP Art Studio Acceptance list for 2012-13 has been posted in all art rooms!

-Do you enjoy art?  Please come to the High School AP Art Exhibit, upstairs at the Pence Gallery on D Street.  The exhibit is open through March 25th with a reception on March 9 at 6:00 pm.  The exhibit features amazing art by DHS and Da Vinci art students!

-Still deciding where to go after high school?   Up for a fun trip with friends?    The City of Davis is sponsoring the SoCal Safari for a tour of 6 Southern California Universities including UCLA and UCSB.  The trip runs from April 9 - April 12 and the cost is $490.00. The Davis High PTA is seeking parent volunteers to serve on its board next year.
PTA positions opened are: treasurer, auditor, parliamentarian and secretary.
We have many returning Board members next year who can lend support if needed to anyone who is
interested but may be feeling as though they don't have the background in a certain position.
