Come to the Career Center's Annual Summer Activities and Scholarship Fair which will feature job and scholarship applications, plus information about volunteering and other summer activities.  Hope to see you outside the Career Center on Tuesday, March 12 at lunch!

5...4...3...2...1..HAPPY NEW YEAR! Just kidding but now that I have your attention sophomores and juniors, Friendship Day facilitator applications are out and ready to get filled.  Be sure to apply before March 27 if you want to be a facilitator!

Tomorrow, March 8 is the deadline to submit requests from the Blue and White Foundation's Student Activity Program. Any DHS student may apply for funding to support curricular or extra-curricular activities including academic conferences, sports training camps, fine art workshops, tutoring, extracurricular school essentials (i.e. costuming, sports equipment, musical instruments), etc.  applications can be submitted online at www.dhsblueandwhite.org<http://www.dhsblueandwhite.org/>. CLUBS: It's not too late to join the Davis Lady Rugby Team!  Practices are Monday-Thursday, 4:00-6:00 at the field behind the public library and North Davis Elementary.  No prior experience is necessary!

Please come out to cheer the Boys Rugby Club this Saturday, March 9!  The games are as follows: Varsity Silver @ De La Salle @ 4:00 pm and Varsity Bronze @ Sacramento Hurricanes at 10:30 am.

Latinos Unidos will hold a general meeting Monday, March 11th in Room O-5 during lunch.  This meeting will count as one of the seven points needed to go on the San Francisco trip!

Come to the North Davis Dos Coyotes this Sunday, March 10 and support the Global Glimpse Club with their fundraiser.  Pick up a flyer to present to the cashier from O-6, Ms. Diaz' room.  We hope to see you there!

ONGOING/UPCOMING EVENTS:  Acme Theatre Company invites all 9th - 12th grade students to audition for the upcoming productions of 'The Big Guns' which is a western radio play or 'Bullshot Crummond,' a zany parody of British pulp detective-heroes of the 1930s. All students are invited to the 2013 Davis High School World Language Fair, this Saturday March 9th from noon to 4pm in the South Gym.  There will be cultural presentations, tables representing various language groups, music, dance and FOOD! THIS EVENT IS FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!  Bring your family members and friends!  Ask your World Language teacher about extra credit passports!"

Tickets for the Spring play, 'The Breedless Kitsch' are on sale online at dhsdrama.net.  Student tickets are $8, adults are $16.  Opening night is March 8th at 7:00 pm!  Other performances are March 9, 14th, 15th and 16th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, March 10 at 2:00. Pre-sale tickets are also available during lunch in the finance office.

Our second blood drive of the year will be held on Friday, March 15.  Sign-ups to donate begin Monday, March 11.  Listen to the bulletin for more details.

Students interested in pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine are invited to attend UC Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine "Future Day" on Sunday, April 28 from 8:30-3:00.  Future Day is a free event for students and will focus on veterinary medicine and interactive labs.  The event is free and includes a light breakfast.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Interested in trying out for the Nationally Ranked DHS Cheerleading Team?  All candidates must attend our Mandatory Tryout Information Night on April 16th, 6:00 pm in the DHS Library. Boys Lacrosse - Break the Record Night, Friday, March 15 - 5:30JV/7:30V.  Admission is free! Food provided by Tommy J's, Jamba Juice and Peet's Coffee.  Grab a friend or family member and come support DHS Blue Devil Lacrosse.  Wear blue and white!

It's time for The City of Davis' annual So-Cal Safari College Tour for high school students the week of April 4-7 to help teens make the important decision about where to apply.  The tour covers five major universities -   UC Santa Cruz, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Santa Barbara, University of Southern California and UCLA in Southern California.  The tour cost is $490 and includes transportation, college tours, breakfast, dinner and hotels. Interested in aviation?  The Aerospace Museum of California is sponsoring a 4-day Aerospace Summer Camp for students, ages 13 - 17.  Each participant will take a short flight with a registered pilot!
