On Tuesday, May 7, come out to the DHS baseball field to support our graduating seniors and the top-ranked Blue Devil Varsity team in their final home game of the regular season against rival Elk Grove.  Varsity game starts at 4:00 pm.  Admission is free and the snack bar is open!

SAVE THE DATE! Sports Physical Clinic at Sutter Davis Family Practice Saturday, June 1st from 8:30-11:30am. $20 donation benefits DHS Athletics. Athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring for the 2013-14 school year. TODAY:  AP Testing Continues today  -  Schedules available at the Front Desk and around campus.  Spanish language at the Vet's Memorial and computer science at the Library East - 7:30 DO NOT BE LATE.   Reminder to Spanish Language testers on Tuesday May 7th- bring a sack lunch, recording will go into lunch time. Afternoon test begins at 11:30 and is Art History at the Library East.

Girls, you don't need make-up to be beautiful.  Show your true beauty with LEAD participation in "Break Down the Foundation" on May 10th.  Come to school without makeup or worrying about hair and what to wear.  At lunch, come to the old gym for a photo shoot.  Look up "Break Down the Foundation" on Facebook for details.

Lecture Series:   The final biomedical lecture of the year will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at lunch in the Career Center.  Dr. Marc Facciotti presents an introduction to the field of synthetic biology, and will discuss the opportunities available for young people thinking about entering the field.  Dr. Facciotti graduated from Davis Senior High School in 1993 and is currently a faculty member in the UC Davis Biomedical Engineering department.

NEW: Students interested in singing the senior song at graduation, please pick up a copy of the music in PA-08. You will audition on your voice part on Tuesday, May 14 at lunch.

Attention Seniors!!!!!!!!!!!  Graduation tickets are on sale now.  Tickets may be purchased online from May 6-15 at the DHS Webstore.  You can access the Webstore at http://www.davisseniorhigh.net.  Click on "Pay Online." You may purchase any quantity of tickets up to the amount you requested.   We will also accept your payment at the DHS Finance Office at lunch only from May 6-10, 13-15.  If you have questions about your payment total, or the number of tickets you will receive, you may email Kimberly Perez at kperez at djusd.net or call her at 530-757-5400 x113.


ONGOING/UPCOMING:  It's the State FFA Judging Finals for horse and vegetable crop judging at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.  Please wish the FFA students good luck!

Pick up Link Leader applications in the Finance Office, L-23 and L-25.  Make a difference at DHS and make the world a better place!

The Madrigals will be holding auditions for a tenor, bass, and accompanist on May 28th at lunch.  Please see Mrs. Gardias for details.

Attention ALL students, please check the list outside of A-7 (in the Humanities Hall) to verify that you have pre-purchased a yearbook. If you have any questions see Mrs. Thomsen in C-3. If you did not purchase a yearbook we should have a few extras and you can buy one for $95 during distribution in late May.

Listen up Senior and Junior girls!  Do you want to play in this year's Powderpuff Football Game?  Well now is the chance!  Applications are available today in C-4 and are due May 10th at an informational meeting during lunch.

If you play guitar, bass, drums or piano, you can join a band and jam with other musicians with the City of Davis Summer Rock Band Camp.  The deadline to sign up is May 10, so come to the Career Center soon to pick up an application.

Please nominate a teacher you think is most deserving of the honor of Rotarian Teacher of the Year for the 2012-13 School Year.  The criteria for consideration are listed below as is the nomination form available in the front office. Please return the form with an attached description of your nominee to Kate Prien, Site Secretary, no later than noon on Friday, May 10, 2013.

The Drama Department presents 'Out on a Limb,' an edgy adult comedy.  Performances are on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 pm in the IPAB.  Student tickets are $6 and general admission is $12.

The Devil Day Car Show returns Wednesday, May 29, hosted by the DHS Car Club.  Cool cars and trucks will be on display all day in the quad with judging at lunch and a people's choice award you can vote on.  There are cool prizes for the winners including a car show t-shirt, free oil change or car care gift basket.  If you or someone you know wants to enter, the applications are in the main office or the Auto Shop Room, O-3.  Applications due May 15.  Hope to see you there!

Summer School - Classes will be available for students who need to make up credits.  Pick up a summer school application in the Counseling Office.
