THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  1972 - Bob Douglas became the first black man elected to the Basketball Hall of
Fame in Springfield, MA.

Attention Spring Athletes! Information about tryouts is posted on the Athletics Office window and on
the DHS website. Please note:  the Spring Break for Davis schools does not align with the rest of the
schools in our league. Many spring sports WILL have games/matches over our Spring Break.

Sports Paperwork Nights:  Turn in your sports paperwork and get cleared for Spring tryouts! Paperwork
nights will be held tonight, Tuesday Feb. 4 & Thursday Feb. 6 from 6-8pm in the North Gym lobby. If you
played a Fall or Winter sport, you can also pick up a copy of your clearance card to give to your spring
coach.

This Friday is Break the Record Night!  Come at 7:00 pm to see the men's basketball team take on
Franklin.  Make sure to wear all white!  Admission is free with ASB card and $4. without.

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:  Apply for Student Government today!  Pick up an application in C-4 and turn it in by February 14th.

CAHSEE for 10th graders is today! Arrive to the appropriate gym by 8:55am: A-P in North Gym and Q-Z in
South. Bring your photo ID's, pencils and be on time!

Reminder: tomorrow, Thursday is a Regular Tuesday Schedule- school is out at 3:30!

Attention, Fall ILS students!  If you have not picked up your grade, it is available behind the Front Desk.

Davis High School is holding its third annual Mini College Fair!  Representatives from across the country
will be ON THE QUAD AT LUNCH ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7 to provide information about their college.
Colleges participating include University of Arizona, University of Reno, Rutgers, Oregon State and more!
See you at the Mini College Fair on the quad at lunch on Friday, February 7!

All DHS orchestra placement auditions will be held at Davis High School in the Music Bldg., Room PA-3
March 3rd - 7th.  Check your school music room for sign-up sheets for times and requirements.  SIGN-UP
DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST.  Contact Mr. Moreno for any questions.  The final audition
schedule will be posted Monday, February 24th.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  This week is Break-the-Record Night Spirit Week ! Dress up to get pumped up: Thursday
Sports Day and White Out Friday!  Today at lunch in the Quad is Disney Guess-That-Song.  Come out,
test your Disney knowledge and win prizes~

Valentine's Day Flower/Bear  are on sale again for the week through Feb 7th, lunch time only on quad.
Special deal for teacher's as well 1 dozen rose bouquet (roses + babies breath + ribbon) at a discount
come to the table in the quad during lunch to place your orders!

Hey, Key Clubbers! Be sure to come to S-12 today at lunch for a very important meeting.  Lots of vital
information will be given.  Also, if you have not turned in your first semester hour sheet, you must
come.  We will have food!

Have you bought your yearbook yet?  Make sure to order your yearbook soon.  There are only a small
number left!  You can confirm your order by checking the list posted in the library's window.

Hello DHS Unicyclers!  The last meeting was fun!  Why not come to this one?  N-4 every Thursday at
lunch!

UC Davis is offering their annual COSMOS four-week summer program for high achieving math and
science students.  Students live on campus and attend classes in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math) related field.  Applications are due February 22.  Come to the Career Center for
information about the program, fees, financial assistance and how to apply.

SENIORS: Visit the Front Desk at break or lunchtime to check the spelling on the diploma order list.  The
deadline is February 7, 2014 to make any adjustments, if needed.

-Event and information posting are to be posted on BLUE WALLS ONLY! Not blue doors, garbage cans,
drink machines, restrooms but blue walls ONLY! Thank you for your cooperation!

-Please place recycle materials in proper containers which are the cardboard bins near the trash
dumpster.  If you don't know where, ask somebody.  Davis Waste Removal will not dump containers
with improper materials in them.
