Break for Davis schools does not align with the rest of the schools in our league. Many spring sports WILL have games/matches over our Spring

Break.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  Attention, bicycling students!  The Davis Bicycle Club is kindly donating a limited number of bicycle helmets for

students who need them.  We have a sign-up sheet for helmets in the Career Center.   If you are in need of a helmet, please sign up as soon as

possible!

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:  If you need help completing federal financial aid forms for college, UC Davis can help you during their Financial Aid

Awareness Week February 18-20. Financial aid professionals will be available to assist students and parents complete the FAFSA and DREAM Act

applications. Come to the Career Center for more information.


The UC Davis Department of Surgery in Sacramento is offering a Pre-Medical Surgical Internship and Mentorship Program to high school students

who are at least 17 years old and are interested in a career in medicine.  Participants will interact with physicians and observe them through every

step of patient care.  Deadline to apply is March 31.  Come to the Career Center for more information.


SENIORS: Visit the Front Desk at break or lunchtime to check the spelling on the diploma order list.  The deadline is February 14, 2014 to make any

adjustments, if needed.

Attention all Spring Sport Athletes: If you are planning on taking Independent Lifetime Sports while in your Spring Sport season, please drop by the

front office and pick up an Application.  All applications require a coach's signature once you have officially made the team roster.  Read and Follow

the instructions on the Application carefully.  Applications are located in the front office, to the left, on the counter.  Signed applications are due no

later than Tuesday, February 18th.  Questions?  See Ms. Crawford.

AP Art Studio Portfolio Review - The Portfolios for any students interested in taking AP Art Studio next year for Ceramics, Drawing/Painting or

Photography will be due by Wednesday, February 19th.Please give your portfolio to any art teacher on or before that day.  See Ms. Diem in A-1 for

any questions.

AP Tests sales are available at the DHS Webstore.  $95.00/test,  no refunds.  Sales end Friday, March 7! Check the schedule on our website,

collegeboard.com or in your AP bulletin.


Davis High School Orchestra Program Placement Auditions will be held at DHS in the Music Building, Room PA-3 from March 3rd - 7th.  Check your

school music room for sign-up sheets for times and requirements.  Sign-up Deadline is Friday, February 21st!  Contact Mr. Moreno for questions or

if you need an extension amoreno at djusd.net.


CLUBS/EVENTS:  What is it like to be on the City Council?  Find out by participating in Youth in Government.  You will be able to shadow a city

government official and participate in a mock City Council meeting.  Pick up an application in C-4.  Applications are due February 28th.  There is an

informational meeting in C-4 on Thursday, February 13th at lunch.


Unsatisfied with last semester's language grades?  Come to N-2 any day during lunch to get help in your world language or English classes.

Whether you need to review verb conjugations or have someone read your English essay, the Language Tutors Club is here to help!

Apply for Student Government today!  Pick up an application in C-4 and turn it in by February 14th.

UC Davis is offering their annual COSMOS four-week summer program for high achieving math or science students.  Students live on campus and

attend classes in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related field.  Applications are due February 22.  Come to the Career Center

for information about the program, fees, financial assistance and how to apply.


Have you bought your yearbook yet?  Make sure to order your yearbook soon.  There are only a small number left!  You can confirm your order by

checking the list posted in the library's window.
