TODAY:  COLLEGE NIGHT is tonight, June 5, Thursday at 7:00 pm in the IPAB.  This program is for JUNIORS and their
parents.

Get your tickets, Seniors!  Grad Night Tickets will be sold in the Quad at lunchtime on the following days and times:
Thursday, June 5 12:10-12:53; Friday, June 6 12:10-12:53, Monday, June 9 12:28-1:11; Tuesday, June 10 12:20-12:50;
Wednesday, June 11 12:20-12:50.  The price is now $110.00.

Tickets are also available online at davisgradnight.org or you may purchase a ticket on June 13th.  If you aren't sure if
you have bought your ticket, the Front Desk has a list of names of people who have purchased their tickets already.  The
ticket price covers all activities, food/drinks and prizes.  Scholarship tickets are available through the Counseling office.

Based on suggestions from parents and analysis of ridership data, Unitrans will be recommending some changes to the S
and T lines for the 2014-15 school year.  Please visit the Unitrans web page for details on the proposed changes and
ways to provide your comments either by email or at the upcoming Unitrans Advisory Committee meeting on July 2.

SENIORS:  Cap and Gown distribution will resume, Tuesday, June 10th.   Students with the last names that begin with the
letter N-Z will pick up their cap and gown on Tuesday, June 10th.  Distribution will occur at lunch in the Quad.

Graduating Seniors- If you have not requested your cap and gown, please see Mrs. Perez in the office.  For any questions
relating to Graduation, please see Mrs. Perez in the office.

Seniors:  Did you miss Senior Awards night?  If your name is on the list outside the main office or Career Center, you may
have a certificate waiting for you!  Come to the Career Center to pick up your certificate and a Senior Awards Night
program.

A poem from yearbook:  If you've bought a Yearbook and you haven't got it this year, find Achimore in P-21 or you won't
get one, we fear!

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE:   Don't forget to request your FINAL TRANSCRIPT to be sent to the college you will be attending.
Bring in a stamped addressed envelope to the Transcript Counter and follow the posted instructions. If your common
application college is requesting submission of a final report, you need to make a request at the transcript counter.  A
stamped, addressed envelope is not needed.

Don't forget to fill out a PERMANENT ADDRESS CARD if you haven't already. Turn in completed cards to the Front Desk
or Counseling Office.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  If you want to learn about scholarships, financial aid, how to create a resume and how to be successful
in college and your career, you should attend the Job Fair and Success Camp on June 16 from 11:00 - 3:00 at the Yolo
County One Stop Career Center in Woodland. The event is sponsored by Congressman John Garamendi.  The job fair is
free but you must sign up ahead of time.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

The DHS Baroque Ensemble has been invited to perform at the prestigious Berkeley Baroque Music  Festival  by special
request from the California Baroque Festival President, John Phillips.  The students have the unique opportunity to
represent our school and music program at the highest level possible within the professional Baroque musician
community.   We are incredibly excited about this performance opportunity as it will be a powerful display of all the
hard work we have achieved together this entire year.  Bravo students!

The annual DHS Orchestra Concerto Competition traditionally held in January is being moved next year to the month of
November. It will take place Wednesday, November 19th 2014 at 7:00pm on stage in the DHS Brunelle Performance
Hall. It is open to all DHS instrumentalist. The winner of this competition will be given the honor of performing with the
DHS Symphony Orchestra at the Mondavi  Center in Jackson Hall at the Wennberg Music Festival on Saturday, February
14, 2015 at 2:30pm as well as a check for $300.00.  A sign-up sheet and informational flyer will be posted in early
September on the window of the computer lab in PA-3. It is important to start to plan for this event now and begin
preparing at the start of the school year or even during summer.  Email Mr. Moreno if you have questions at

PARENTS!  VOLUNTEERS FOR GRAD NIGHT ARE STILL NEEDED!!
Help us to ensure that the 30th Annual Grad Night is a success!  We can't do it without you, PARENTS!
Thursday, June 12, we have six shifts open to SET-UP Grad Night.   Friday, June 13 we have 4 shifts open to
check-in students (great job for junior or sophomore parents),  1 shift open for Outdoor Beverage Bar and Carnival area,
16 shifts open for Casino dealers (training on June 9th 7-9:00 pm), Activities (Boxer Bingo, Beading, Inflatables,
Photobooth, etc.) 7 shifts open, 4 shifts open for the Café/Hospitality.  On Saturday, June 14, we have 40 shifts open for
clean-up.

GRAD NIGHT DONATIONS!  This Sunday, June 8th is the last day for donation drop-offs.  We are giving out raffle prizes
that get bigger and better all night long to the graduates.  We only need 36 more gift cards in the $10-$25 range to
reach our goal.  We also need boxer shorts - all colors, prints--in large sizes.  Please let us know what you'll donate by

following 3 locations this Sunday between 12:-4:00pm.
