DHS Quiz Bowl went to the Sacramento Fall Tournament on Saturday.  The Davis A Team won first place of 14 teams.
Davis players Eliot Williams, Jayanth Sundaresan and Henry Zhang all placed in the top five individuals.  If you are
interested in fast-paced trivia competitions like Jeopardy, come to Quiz Bowl on Wednesdays in S-7.

Join the Healthcare Careers Club for our first meeting of the year!  Come to the Career Center on Wednesday,
September 17th at lunch for an introduction to the club.  Medical professionals will be scheduled throughout the year to
give presentations about their careers.  See you there at the Career Center at lunch on Wednesday!

Do you have the passion to help others in need?  Interested in volunteering to help your community?  Join the Red Cross
Club!  The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at lunch in Room S-1.
Looking for somewhere to address your concerns about school or have any suggestions for Homecoming?  Join Gabe
Leal, the real deal, for student forum on Wednesday, September 17 in Ms. Swanstrom's room, L-22.

Hey Key Clubbers! Registration is going on today, at lunch in front of S-12.  It will be running until Thursday, September
25th.  Make sure to bring your registration form and $11.50 to register.  Former members should also bring their spring
hours sheet.  Forms will also be available in S-12 and at registration.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Picture make-up day is Tuesday, September 30th in the Library, W. Classroom from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.

If you are a sophomore or junior who purchased pictures during schedule pick-up, your pictures are now available in the
Career Center.

ACADEMICS:  Attention Juniors: PSAT is coming next month! Orange half sheet postcards were sent home giving details
for the test and dates to register. Online sales began this week.  If any student (11th grade only) feels this is a financial
burden, please contact your counselor immediately.

National Honor Society registration is at lunch Monday through Friday.  Registration is in Room S-12.  Bring $5. and your
grade report from last semester.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Are you interesting in the Air Force ROTC program?  If so, come to the Career Center on Friday,
September 19 at lunch to speak with an Air Force ROTC representative.

Sophomores!  We will have another float building meeting this Friday, September 19th in Room-06 at lunchtime to
discuss ideas and plans for the float.  Hope to see you there!

The DHS Cancer Awareness Club is having its first meeting this Friday at lunch in N-12.  Come and hear about this year's
events!

Cabin leaders are needed for Korematsu Elementary's Walker Creek outdoor education program from December 1-5.
Come to the Career Center for an application.

The GSA will meet this Friday @ lunch in Mr. Wheeler's class, L-28.  We are off to a good start, tackling some strong
issues that serve the rights of all Blue Devil students.  Come join us and be a voice to be heard.

Interested in math?  Want to compete in and host math competitions?  Teach math to elementary school students?  Join
Mu Alpha Theta!  Our first meeting will be held in Mr. Ronning's room, N-5 on Friday, September 19th .  See you there!

Interested in being a Walker Creek CABIN LEADER?  Cabin leaders are needed for Pioneer Elementary.  Cabin leaders
must work well with children, and have an outgoing personality with an enthusiasm for the outdoors. Guys are
encouraged to apply!  Applications are available in the Career Center.
