It is not too early to THINK SNOW! The Davis High School Snowboard Team is having an informational meeting for all
interested high school men and women on Monday September 29th in the Davis High School Library at 7:30 PM. This
meeting is for all interested students and parents.  (For further information, you can contact Marcia Heller at 530-400-

Is the DHS Ski Team right for you? Come find out more at the informational meeting on Thursday, October 2 at 7 p.m. in
the Davis High School Library. Interested 9th-12th graders, parents and guardians are invited to attend.  If you have

Football Entrance Reminder:  Students, please remember the policy about what you are not allowed to bring into the
football stadium: #1 No Backpacks or large Bags  #2 No previously opened food or beverages

TODAY:  Hey prospective math and science tutors!  Pick up tutor application forms in S-9 and return completed forms to
MAST officers or to Mr. Van Muyden in S-9.  Forms are due by Friday, September 26.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  The ultimate costume party is just two weeks away!  Come to MORP, the backwards
prom on October 10th from 8:00 to 11:00 pm.  Tickets can be bought in advance at the finance office for $5 with ASB, $7
without and $10 at the door.  See you there!

Attention Juniors: PSAT is Saturday, October 18th; sign-ups are now through October 15th.  The cost is only $24.00. If
you feel this is a hardship please see your counselor immediately for a fee waiver.

Picture make-up day is Tuesday, September 30th in the Library, W. Classroom from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS:  National Honor Society registration is at lunch through Thursday.  Registration is in Room S-12.
Bring $5. and your grade report from last semester.

Would you like to publish your artwork, photography, writings (poetry or prose) or music?  Submit to the literacy and art
magazine at spokesnomissions100 at gmail.com.  The deadline is September 29.

Are you interested in a pursuing a career in health sciences?  California Northstate University in Elk Grove is offering
week-long summer science camps for students in grades 9-12.  Camps will focus on science-related careers, mock
disasters, forensics, vet clinics, bioterrorism and more!  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity! :  International House of Davis needs volunteers for their International Festival on October 5.
Volunteers will set-up and take-down, manage trash stations, provide information to attendees, etc.   Come to the
Career Center for more information.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Attention Link Crew Leaders! Our next meeting will be next Tuesday at lunch in Room L-23.  Please
come with your positivity and enthusiasm!

Are you interested in health care and community service?  Then come join the DHS Health Awareness Club on Tuesday,
September 30th during lunch in S-5.  This club allows students to take action on their interests in health by setting up
innovative events to successfully educate our peers.  We will be discussing upcoming volunteer activities at local Davis

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:  The Yolo County Animal Shelter is looking for high school students to foster kittens and
volunteer for offsite adoption events.  Internship opportunities are also available for students interested in a future
career working with animals.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Do you speak Spanish?  Do you like working with elementary students?  If so, come to the Spanish Tutoring Club in S-6
on Monday, September 29th to find out more.

Interested in expressing your creative spirit?  Come to the Creative Writing Club on Monday in O-1.

Walker Creek CABIN LEADER are needed for Montgomery, Patwin and Korematsu Elementary schools.  These schools
will go to Walker Creek December 1 - 5.   Please come to the Career Center for an application.
