DHS Boys Lacrosse is open.  You can register by going to the domain www.dhslax.com which will bring you to the high
school boy's lacrosse page on the DLA website.  You can also find this page by clicking the tab on the left titled "2015
Davis HS Varsity and JV.  Tryouts will be held February 9-11.  All sports paperwork must be turned in prior to tryouts.

Ladies and Gentlemen!  We are proud to present your 2014-2015 Dodgeball Champions, Runners-up, and MVPs! Taking
home FIRST PLACE was Dabron and the Trap Gods.  Nachos Niños placed second, and your MVPs were : (DRUMROLL
PLEASE!) Patrick Cajandig, Abbey Fisk, Joe Schaaf, Nate Curtis and Josh Gieschen!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  AP students: AP exams are now on sale at the web store only. If you are in need of
financial assistance, please contact your counselor immediately.

TODAY: Cancer Awareness Club Fact of the Week! There are more than 100 Types of cancers; any part of the body can
be affected.  Come to N-12 today, Friday for a Cancer Awareness Club meeting!  We will be discussing the upcoming hat
drive and other events.

The Floral Design Class will be selling rose bouquets in the quad for $4 each today, Friday, Tuesday, February 10th,
Wednesday, February 11th and Thursday, February 12th.  Roses will be delivered on the 13th.  Don't forget to buy a rose
for your Valentine!

Do you have someone special in your life? Have Rebella Capella, DHS's own acapella group, sing to your loved one!
These singing grams come with a flower and a song at $4 each, but hurry!  They'll only sing to the first twenty requests!
You can buy these grams on the Quad on Friday, February 6th or Tuesday the 9th!

The GSA will have an officers' meeting today at lunch in L-28.  Our next general meeting will be next Friday, February
13th.

You know what would float our boat?  If you come to C-4 to vote!  On the 6th of February, it will be fun and not at all
scary.  Before school, at lunch and after lunch, you'll get a sticker that's really cool!  Come out and show that you care,
don't forget to vote! We'll see you there!

If you would like to learn about the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, come to the Career Center at lunch on
Friday, February 6 to speak to an Academy of Art University admissions representative.

Hey Key Clubbers!  Today is the last day of Spring registration.  Old members only need to bring their fall hour sheets
and new members should bring $6 to register.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:  Does your student love to sing?  9th, 10th and 11th grade students interested
in checking out the outstanding vocal music program at DHS next year (even if attending DaVinci), have several fabulous
options.  One of them is the Advanced Treble Choir, directed by Dr. Karen Gardias.  Students wishing to learn more
about this dynamic, diverse and fun group are invited to an informational tea this Wednesday, February 11 from 4-6pm.
Parents are also welcome!  To RSVP and/or receive additional details, students or their parents may ask a current ATC

UC Davis is hosting a Financial Aid Awareness Week February 18-20 on the UC Davis campus. Financial aid professionals
will be available to help students and parents complete FAFSA or DREAM Act applications. Come to the Career Center
for more information.

Juniors: Would you like to participate in the Rotary Club's all-expense paid Camp Royal Youth Leadership program this
summer?  This program is held each June in the mountains of Northern California and is filled with leadership-training
events, information, ideas and strategies that will help you become a more effective leader.  The deadline to apply is
March 6th.  Come to the Career Center for more information and an application.

All entering 10th-12th grade students are invited to audition for the Davis Madrigal Singers for the 2015-2016 school
year.  Auditions will be held March 9th-12th in the DHS music rooms (PA3 and PA8).  There will be an informational
meeting on Wednesday, March 4 at 4:00 inPA8.  The meeting is not mandatory but please come if you have questions
about the ensembles or the audition process.  Full information and forms for auditions can be found at

by February 20th or  print out the paper form and mail it postmarked by February 20th, 2015.

Juniors!  The Rotary Club is sponsoring Camp Venture, an all-expenses paid training and motivational summer camp for
juniors interested in pursuing a career in business, particularly as entrepreneurs.  The camp will be held at CSU Maritime
Academy in June.  Come to the Career Center for more information and an application.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Come join the Healthcare Careers Club in the Career Center at lunch on Wednesday February 11th to
hear David Harrington, a Physical therapist at Kaiser, speak about common sports related injuries in high school
students. Snacks will be provided. See you in the Career Center Wednesday at lunch!

Do you have a desire to wield unfettered power after the proceedings at the school?  Do you want personal control over
the vast DHS treasury?  Do you want to learn how to make a decent poster?  Apply for Student Government today.
Applications are due February 13th.

The Jazz Choir presents the 26th Annual Jazz Choir Cabaret! Enjoy the music and dance of the cabaret at a special
concert on Tuesday, February 10th at 6:30 pm at the Brunelle Performance Hall.  Concert tickets are $10 for adults and
$5 for students.

The Davis Homeless Shelter is in need of winter supplies for the cold season.  Nonperishable foods, soaps and shampoos
as well as gently-used winter clothing is being collected in a donation bin in the Front Office.  Anything helps! Thanks!
