Interested in rugby?  Want to know more?  Come to the informational meeting on Thursday, November 12 at 5:00 pm in the LRC (Learning Center).  It's the building on the east side of the quad between the Office and the S Buildings.  Hope to see you there!

Attn: Girls grade 9-12 interested in trying out for the freshman, jv or varsity girls basketball team! Tryouts begin Monday, Nov. 9th in the South gym. Must turn in sports paperwork and receive your athletic clearance card in order to try out. Tryout times for Nov 9: seniors & juniors 4-6pm, sophomores and freshman 6-8pm. DHS Winter Athletes! Make sure to turn in your sports physical packets to the Athletics Office prior to the first day of conditioning or tryouts! You cannot participate without an athletic clearance card. Come by the Athletics Office during school hours.

TODAY:  Today, Friday is the deadline to sign-up to donate blood to the Blood Drive on Monday, November 9.  Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18.

If you would like to learn about the United States Navy, a Navy representative will be on the quad at lunch Friday November 6 to answer your questions.

"Band Geeks" premieres tonight!  Will the band geek get the cheerleader?  Who will lead the Beavers?  Come find out tonight  in the IPAB at 7:00 pm! It has pop music, sassy characters and lots of heart!  Performances are November 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th.  There is an afternoon performance on November 8th at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $10 for students with ID.

Are you interested in helping with the energy audit or helping with the DHS garden?  Come join the Environmental Club on Friday in S-10 at lunch.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  November SAT is tomorrow - Saturday, November 7. Arrive to N4 at 7:30am to get your room assignment. Must have admission ticket and photo ID to enter. Test begins promptly at 8am- NO late entry. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Attention, students! Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day and is a school holiday.  We will have the Wednesday block schedule on Tuesday, November 10th and it will be a late start day.  Please take note of this change!

Congratulations to the Speech and Debate Team who competed in an invitational this last weekend and took 2nd out of 57 schools!

Want to say that you are published?  Submit your prose, poetry, photography and art to the Spoke, Davis High's Literary and Art Magazine!  Please submit your work to spacesubmissions100 at gmail.com<mailto:spacesubmissions100 at gmail.com>.  The deadline is November 30th for the first issue of this year.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES: Davis FFA is collecting items for deployed service members.  If you have items such as personal care items or non-perishable snack foods, bring them to O-1A or the box in the Front Office.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  The Red Cross Club is planning for the first blood drive of the year which will take place, Monday, Nov. 9th in the south gym.  Giving blood takes approximately one hour from start to finish and is safe and easy.  To donate blood, you must be at least 16, weight at least 110 and be free from cold or flu symptoms for at least 48 hours.  If interested, please sign up on the quad at lunch this week or at the nurse's office by Friday, Nov. 6.  Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18 or older.  For more information, see Ms. Youtsey, the school nurse.

Hallo and Wilkommen!  The DHS German Club is meeting Tuesdays in Ms. Hamrick's room, N-2.  If you are interested in watching German movies and eating delicious German pastries, feel free to stop by!  There will be gummy bears...
