*ATHLETICS**: *  Girls Varsity Water Polo @ Johansen HS -2:30 vs
Lincoln                                    dismissal: All Day



*DSHS Athletes*:  Any athlete signing a *national letter of intent* on Nov.
11th, please notify athletic director Jeff Lorenson by Tuesday Nov. 10th if
you would like to participate in the signing day event at lunch on
Thursday, Nov. 12th.



Interested in *rugby*?  Want to know more?  Come to the informational
meeting on Thursday, November 12 at 5:00 pm in the LRC (Learning Center).
It’s the building on the east side of the quad between the Office and the S
Buildings.  Hope to see you there!



All 9-12th grade *boys* interested in playing *DHS high school tennis*:
please attend the preseason meeting on Thursday, November 12th at 4:00 pm.
The meeting will be held on court number 12 at the DHS tennis courts.

*DHS Winter Athletes*! Make sure to turn in your sports physical packets to
the Athletics Office prior to the first day of conditioning or tryouts! You
cannot participate without an athletic clearance card. Come by the
Athletics Office during school hours.

*TODAY**:  Attention Seniors: *Karl and * Herff Jones* will be hosting a
Graduation Fair, Tuesday, Nov.10 in the library!  This is the only night
you’ll be able to order in person a class ring, get the official DSHS 2016
announcements, and other graduation items that celebrate YOU!  Please come
anytime between 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM to the DHS library! Reminder: DHS will
provide a free cap/gown/tassel for each graduate.



Hallo and Wilkommen!  The *DHS German Club* is meeting Tuesdays in Ms.
Hamrick’s room, N-2.  If you are interested in watching German movies and
eating delicious German pastries, feel free to stop by!  There will be
gummy bears…



*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS*:  You – ball + Me – ball = We ball?  That’s right
DHS, it’s that time of year.  *WINTER BALL *is coming December 6th in the
North Gym from 9:00 pm -12:00 am.  Tickets will be sold next week for $20
with ASB and $25 without.  Hurry and buy them, because the price will
increase.  Also, if you bring a guest, you must turn in a guest pass
(available in the Front Office) at least two (2) days in advance before
buying a ticket.



On behalf of the students and the director, please accept this invitation
to the *DHS Symphonic Band's* upcoming performance this coming Tuesday,
November 17th, beginning at 7:30pm in the Richard Brunelle Theater.
The *concert
is titled “Gifts”* and represents musical gifts of cornerstone wind band
literature throughout the last 80 years. The program is exciting and we
sincerely hope you are able to attend and enjoy the wonderful musical gifts
the Symphonic Band students have worked so hard to prepare.



Want to say that you are published?  Submit your prose, poetry, photography
and art to the *Spoke*, Davis High’s Literary and Art Magazine!  Please
submit your work to spacesubmissions100 at gmail.com.  The deadline is
November 30th for the first issue of this year.



*ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES*: *Davis FFA* is collecting *items for
military service members*.  If you have items such as baby wipes, fruit
snacks or jerky you would like to donate, bring them to O-1A or the box in
the Front Office.



*CLUBS/EVENTS**:  *Come to the *Asian Student Union Club* at lunchtime on
Friday at L-14, Mr. Lee’s room.  We will be learning about issues in South
Korea and having a discussion to choose club shirts.  Snacks will be
provided!



This is your last chance to see the fall musical *‘Band Geeks!’*  Come see
this fun, sassy and feel-good musical!  Performances are at 7:00 pm this
Thursday, 11/12, Friday 11/13 with a final performance on Saturday, 11/14.
Student admission is $10.00 with ID.



Attention all *CSF* members: there will be a *general meeting* this Friday,
November 13th at lunchtime in Room P-13, Ms. O’Brien’s room.  We will
discuss future community service events and other general information.
Remember, you need two meetings per semester to become a lifetime member.

*‘Harmony in our Lives’ is a fund-raising event* for the Davis School Arts
Foundation in association with the West Valley Chorale, our local
barbershop chorus.  Adult admission is $10, students and children are
$5.00.  Proceeds are distributed through grants to music and art programs
in the City of Davis.  *Our own Mr. Zinn is being given the ‘Harmony in Our
Lives’ award for this event!*



A message to everyone in and going to *DHS Factor*!  Next week on November
18th and 19th are rehearsals after school in the IPAB.  And don’t forget to
mark your calendars on the 20th at 7:00 pm for the show in the IPAB to
watch and vote for your favorite act!



The DHS PTA will be hosting an upcoming *Parent Education Presentation*. It
will be a free event for both students and parents*---"Stress Management
for Teens,"* on Nov. 18, 2015 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Brunelle Theater at DHS.



*Attention all DHS instrumental soloists:* The annual DHS Concerto
Competition will be held on Wednesday, January 13th, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the
Brunelle Performance Hall.  The competition is open to all DHS
instrumentalists and free to the public to view.  The winner will receive
the honor of performing with the DHS Symphony Orchestra at the Mondavi
Center in Jackson Hall at the Wennberg Music Festival on Sunday, March 6,
2016 at 2:30 pm as well as a check for $500.00.  A sign-up sheet and
informational flyer is posted on the window of the computer lab in PA-3.
Deadline to sign up: Friday, December 18, 2015. Plan for this event now and
prepare your solo ASAP.  For questions, contact Mr. Moreno at
amoreno at djusd.net.
