The Girls Soccer Blackout Night is Monday the 18th at Yudin Field.  JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity starts at 7:00.  Make sure you wear black on Monday to show your support of the team!  Limited t-shirts will be for sale in the quad and at the game!

DHS Boys Lacrosse Break the Record Night - Tuesday, April 19 vs Jesuit - 5:30JV & 7:30Varsity. Food vendors, entertainment, Davis Lacrosse Youth Team recognition plus incredible lacrosse action! Admission is free. Come support the team ranked #12 in California!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: JUNIORS- Do you want to get an early start on college planning for next year?  If so, come to the Career Center on Tuesday, April 19 at lunch to hear admission representatives from Carleton, St. Olaf, Macalester and Colorado College speak about their colleges and answer questions.  This is a convenient way to learn about colleges you may be interested in!  See you in the Career Center Tuesday at lunch!

Mr. Blue Devil is coming up! Come see your cute, talented classmates capture your heart on April 15th at 7pm in the IPAB.

Attention Juniors & Sophomores:  Are you not happy with your new 2016-17 schedule? Do you feel that you're missing that perfect class to bring it all together? Add the LEAD class to your schedule next year! Help promote goodwill and friendship in your school and community. Come talk to Mrs. Butler in L-21 if you're interested.

The next school year is coming up fast and we need Link Crew members to welcome our new sophomores.  If you are helpful, positive and care about the DHS Community, make sure to apply for the 2016-2017 Link Crew!  The applications are available in L-23 or the Finance Office.  If you missed our first informational meeting, don't worry because there is another one being held in L-23 at lunch on Tuesday, April 19th.  Hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars for 'A Tribute to Tony Fields' on April 22 and 23 at 7:00 pm in the IPAB.  You won't want to miss this fun performance with songs from 'Wicked,' 'Rent,' and 'A Chorus Line!'   Students are $8 with ID, General Admission is $12 and seniors are $10.  Hope to see you there!

SENIORS: The 2016 Senior Ball is almost here! Seniors are all invited to experience the Starry Night on April 30, 2016 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento.  Doors open at 6:30.  Tickets will be on sale in the Finance Office during lunch April 11 to April 22 and 8:15 am to 8:45 am on Wednesday, April 20.  Tables seat 10-your group must buy tickets at the same time to be seated together.  See the Senior Ball Table Organizer, available in the Office and at davishighstudentgovernment.wordpress.com.   Seniors and their guests can purchase tickets; if your guest is not a DJUSD student, complete a Guest Pass and submit it to your Vice Principal for approval by April 20. CSF Seniors: If you are graduating as an ACTIVE lifetime member, you are eligible to apply for our chapter Scholarship.  Applications are available in P-13.  Deadline for submission is Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm.

Attention Seniors! Spring break's over; graduation is almost here.  Don't miss Davis Grad Night, an all-night, over-the-top, alcohol/drug-free rite of passage on Friday, June 10. ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:  Cuba is more than old cars and cigars.  Come to find out about the changes taking place in Cuba from three members of the Davis community who are Cuban immigrants.  The question and answer session will take place in N-4 this coming Monday, April 18th at lunch; Hasta pronto!

Student Comedy Night is April 22nd from 6:00-8:00 pm, in the IPAB.  If you are interested in performing, pick up an application in N1-A and return it by April 15th to N1-A.  See you there!

The Red Cross club is planning for the second blood drive of the year which will take place, Friday, April 15   in the south gym.  Giving blood takes approximately one hour from start to finish and is safe and easy.  To donate blood, you must be at least 16, weigh at least 110 pounds and be free from cold or flu symptoms for at least 48 hours.  Sign-ups begin on Monday April 4th on the quad at lunch or at the nurse's office and continue through Thursday, Apr. 14.  Walk-ins are accepted only if you are 18 or older.  For more information, see Ms. Youtsey, the school nurse.

A local Davis business is looking for students to participate in a t-shirt contest.  T-shirts should include the text "Find financial peace of mind" and have a cartoon of a piggy bank.  The winning designer will receive $50, a copy of the "MoneyMindful Video Kit" and a t-shirt! Come to the Career Center for more information.

CLUBS: Attention CSFers, there will be another general meeting held this Friday at lunch in Room P-13.   Seniors, check the list by Friday at 1:00 pm.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Club is meeting this Friday at lunch in room PA-08. Come by for free pizza and learn about great volunteer opportunities.

The Gay-Straight Alliance is hosting the Day of Silence, April 15th. Take a vow of silence in an effort to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior. Learn more and register in the quad during lunch any day until Friday to support the LGBT community and get free stuff, too.
