Upcoming Winter Sport info meetings: VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER: (players only) Thursday, October 26 at 12:30 in the DHS library

Athletics - There will be a Winter Athlete/Parent meeting on November 14th at 6:30pm in the North Gym.  All students that participate on a winter sports team must attend with at least one parent.

Winter sports tryouts begin November 7th. If you plan to tryout, please make sure to bring your completed sports physical packet to the Athletics Office to get your clearance card. If you are currently participating in a Fall sport, stop by to get a copy of your clearance card to take to your Winter tryout.

TODAY:  Red Cross Club - The Blood Drive is happening today.  We can take walk-ins who are 18 years old.  If you are donating today, remember to bring a picture ID, eat and drink extra fluids prior to donating and bring your parent consent form, if required.

The Football program wants you!  Come out tonight, Friday Oct. 21st for the last home game of the year and show our seniors some love.  The football team is asking you to participate in the 1st ever Senior Blackout night. Everyone please dress from head to toe in black. This game is sure to have huge playoff implications so your spirit is needed! See you at the game!

The Athletic Department has Black-Out T-Shirts to "Tackle Cancer" for $5 to wear to Black-Out Night! Come and get your shirt to support your Blue Devil Football team during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bi-gender is a gender identity characterized by identification with two different genders - simultaneously or changing over time.  Want to learn more and eat some free snacks?  Come to the GSA meeting this Friday at lunch in L-20 above the library.  All are welcome!

The Election is only a few weeks away!  Want to learn what's going on, debate political topics or learn more about politics?  Stop by Room N-2 today for the Davis High Young Democrats Club!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Come see the Fall musical 'First Date,' a fun-filled show with an amazing cast!  Performances start November 4 in the Brunelle Theater, pre-sale tickets coming soon!

On Thursday, October 27 the DHS Baroque Ensemble will be holding a barbecue fundraiser to benefit their upcoming summer trip to Austria and Italy. Come to the corner of the DHS parking lot by the Brunelle Performing Arts Building between 5:30-7:00pm and enjoy a delicious $15/plate tri-tip or chicken dinner that will be barbecued right here on the DHS campus! The Baroque students will even provide music to dine by. For more information or to hear about a pre-purchase drive-through dinner option, contact a Baroque Ensemble student or Kristi Gladding at klglad at pacbell.net<mailto:klglad at pacbell.net>.

Students, bus passes are sold in the Finance Office at lunchtime only.  $6 will buy a 10 ride pass, $25 will buy a month's pass.  Cash only, please!

OPPORTUNITIES:  Cabin Leaders are needed for the Walker Creek trip from November 28 - December 2 for:  Patwin Elementary, Korematsu Elementary and Montgomery Elementary.  Come to the Career Center for an application.

CABIN LEADERS are needed for North Davis Elementary School's trip to Walker Creek January 9-13. Applications are available in the Career Center.  The deadline to apply is November 2.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a dodgeball!  The Annual Dodgeball Tournament is coming up!  Come get permission slips in N-1A (due 10/28).  Have teams of 6-9; you can win awesome shirts and a trophy with your name engraved.

Can you pogo stick? Can you do aerobic hacky sack while singing?  Got hecka guitar skills?  Do you have the voice of an angel?  Then you should sign up for DHS Factor.  DHS Factor is a talent and variety show and will be on November 18th.  Applications are due in N1-A by November 2.

CLUBS:  Do you want to test your knowledge on Hepatitis B trivia or want to know more about this deadly virus?  Then come participate in Team HBV's Hepatitis B Jeopardy game on October 25th in S-5.  We will have prizes for the winners!  We hope to see you there!

Interested in learning about and sharing art in the form of photos, filmmaking and digital graphic arts?  Come to the photography room at A-7 to join the Digital Media Arts Club at our first meeting on Tuesday, October 25th.   No experience is necessary and every month, you will have the opportunity to enter into contests to win food or cash prizes!

Do you like to write?  Want to meet people who like to write too, talk to local authors and attend literary events? Join Creative Writing Club Mondays at lunch in Classroom L-28.

Hey Key Clubbers!  Our yearbook photo will be taken in front of Brunelle Theater on Monday, 10/24 at the beginning of lunch.  Hope to see all you bees there!
