Dear IOOF member,

First -- Scroll down to the bottom of this e-mail to see the September Calendar.

This is a 17 day reminder for the next Saturday Breakfast Meeting at 8:45
AM. Please contact Lea Rosenberg, if you have any questions about this
meeting. The meeting will be held at the home of Lea and the Hon. Judge
Rosenberg, 1112 Westfield Terrace in Davis

A very important announcement is that Tony Gruska was recently a victim in a
car accident that left his vehicled totalled. He also needed some pretty
major surgery on a totally separate matter. Please send Tony, our Noble
Grand, your best wishes. I think that he would appreciate greetings from
his friends and fellow Oddfellows. Tony's address is: 2163 Bella Casa St,
Davis, CA 95616. His e-mail address is rjgruska at pacbell.net

Third Announcement: From Joe Patti -- Save Sept 11 on your calendar

"Leslie and I have been supporting the Coby Foundation since its creation 5
years ago. Coby Yamauchi is a ten year old boy who lives across the street
from us. He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This illness has no cure. For
those who want to learn more about the illness go to http://www.mdausa.org
or http://www.parentdmd.org. In the past the Lodge has made a cash
contribution to sponsor this event. Since we are not gifting member passions
this year due to the building remodel, I would like to suggest other ways
members who choose can help.

1. The 5th annual Coby Foundation Golf Tournament will be held at the
Wildhorse golf course September 11, 2006. Entry fee is $150 per person of
which $65 is tax deductible. The fee includes lunch and dinner. Registration
must be in by September 4th. Anyone who would like to attend just the
dinner, cost is $25 and is 100% tax deductible.

2. Members or member's company who would like to help sponsor the tournament
can, for $250, have a sign predominately displayed on one of the tee boxes
for all players to see.

3. Members can donate raffle prizes which will be raffled off after the golf
tournament.

4. Any member who would like to make a private donation please let me know.
Checks should be made out to PPMD or The Coby Foundation.

I hope some of you are able to help. If you are please either e-mail
josephpatti at yahoo.com or call me directly at 792-0442 or cellular 304-5760."

Fourth Announcement: Save September 23 and 24 on your calendar
On September 23rd and 24th there will be a Rebekah and IOOF sponsored event
benefitting Rebekah Children's Services. The theme will be Mardi Gras with
great food, games and craft activities and a weekend long silent auction.
Our lodge is providing pop-up tents for this event and there will be a
contingent of Davis lodge volunteers to help out. The Festival starts at
10AM and goes to 2:30PM on Saturday, September 23rd, during which time
hamburgers and cheeseburgers will be sold at one of the many festival
booths. At 5PM to 6PM, there will be a spaghetti dinner. The cost is only
$7. After dinner there will be a variety of games.

On Sunday morning, the 24th of September, the Mardi Gras Festival will
continue with a Pancake Breakfast featuring pancakes, sausage, juice and
coffee from 7AM to 10AM. Breakfast costs $5. From 9AM to 2PM, the game,
craft and food booths re-open. At 11AM to 1 PM, there will be a Bar-be-que
lunch featuring chicken, beans, corn cobbettes and cole slaw, which costs
$8. At 1PM the 2 day silent auction closes. At 1:30PM, the Award
presentation for Odd Fellow or Rebekah of the year will be made. The event
is held at 290 IOOF Avenue in Gilroy. We are hoping that many from our
lodge are planning to go to this event in Gilroy. Among those planning to
attend this event are Joe and Leslie Patti, Marie and Bob Bocwkinkel, and G
Richard Yamagata.
