California Water Agencies Join Clean Water Act Court Challenge

The Metropolitan Water District, the San Diego Water Authority, the
Westlands Water District, and the Association of California Water
Agencies are among the water agencies and groups that have joined the
Pacific Legal Foundation in urging the U.S. Supreme Court to limit
federal regulation of the Clean Water Act. The case involves a Michigan
man who was fined for attempting to develop wetlands he owns. The
foundation's attorneys content that the act only applies to navigable
waterways and that federal regulators in this case exceeded their
authority under the law.
