The Bureau of Reclamation is presenting a zebra/quagga mussel informational seminar for interested persons. The training is to be held on Thursday, June 19 from 1-2 p.m. at the Shasta Dam Visitor Center Auditorium, 16349 Shasta Dam Blvd, Shasta Lake, CA.
 
This free training is directed at state, federal and local natural resource and boating agency personnel, water users of all types, lawmakers and border/access area inspection personnel. The seminar will entail an education and training video and a question and answer session. 
 
This training program gives a good overview of the species and problems caused and includes information on outreach and education programs, basic mussel biology, distribution, transport vectors, and mussel impacts.  
 
The instructor is Todd Pederson, Reclamation's dreissenid task force coordinator out of Sacramento, CA.
