owns thousands of acres of mid-Klamath forests, including portions of Beaver
Creek, Horse Creek, and the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Scott</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">River</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>. The company is
trying to get a <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Habitat Conservation Plan</span></i>
approved for its logging plans, and has also applied for 50-yr <i><span
style='font-style:italic'>Incidental Take Permits</span></i> to kill species
otherwise protected by the Endangered Species Act.<br>

are <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>threatened coho salmon</span></b>,
already struggling to hang on in these watersheds, as well as<b><span
style='font-weight:bold'> steelhead</span></b> and <b><span style='font-weight:
bold'>Klamath and Trinity Chinook</span></b> - both imperiled species the
company would like to kill with impunity should they make the endangered
species list in the future.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p><font size=1 color=black face=Arial><span style='font-size:9.0pt'>Fruitgrowers'
proposed plans do not adequately protect fish habitat, and their killing of
endangered fish through logging and road building should not be exempt from
the Endangered Species Act. <a
href="http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=td%2FagnF8u%2BE0VrFVsdMDtTLFsG97oRMq">Please
tell federal salmon managers they need to protect the Klamath River's
threatened coho, not authorize another 'license to kill' in the Klamath
