Dear IRWS Volunteer,

An important issue will be going before the City Council on Tuesday,  
Dec. 12th.  The temporary lifting up limits/caps of the IRWS will  
expire Tuesday night and the reinstitution of the limits/caps will  
occur.

In addition, City Staff will also be proposing the implementation of  
new procedures should the IRWS reach the 25 person limit.  These  
procedures, developed with no input from the IRWS, will permit the  
shelter to accept guest #26 IF the correct procedures have been  
followed and the city staff approves.

The procedures and staff proposal can be found HERE.

As the IRWS has surpassed the 25 person limit over 10  times since the  
limits/caps were temporarily removed, these new procedures are of  
great concern to the IRWS leadership.

Therefore, we invite you to be a part of these important discussions  
at City Council.  The decisions made tomorrow night will directly  
impact our ability to care for those living homeless during these cold  
weather months.
