We have just received the following Spare the Air advisory. As
previously announced, YOLOBUS will provide free rides to all passengers
on announced "Spare The Air" days.

Today, Wednesday, September 8 and tomorrow, Thursday, September 9 are
Spare The Air Days in the Sacramento region.

Ground-level ozone air pollution is forecast to reach 135 AQI -
Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups today and 127 AQI - Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups tomorrow (Spare The Air trigger is 127 AQI & above).

A Spare The Air advisory remains in effect for today and tomorrow due to
a strong high pressure ridge over Northern California that is creating
hot temperatures, stagnant conditions, and a strong temperature
inversion in the Sacramento area. This is trapping pollution in our
region, leading to an expected maximum of 135 on the Air

Quality Index (AQI) today and 127 AQI tomorrow.

The Spare The Air program is urging all motorists to reduce driving and
take their lunches to work instead of driving out to eat. Homeowners are
asked to avoid the use of gas-powered yard tools like lawn mowers and
leaf blowers.

Everyone is urged to carpool to sports and recreation activities, bike
or walk when possible, and postpone driving errands that can wait.

Remember, Yolo Bus and UNITRANS are free on Spare The Air days! For
schedule information visit <http://www.yolobus.com/>

Did you know that:

Poorly maintained cars pollute more. Regular tune-ups will help your car
run

better and cost less to operate.

People are also being asked to:

- eliminate vehicle trips

- arrange to carpool with friends or co-workers

- use public transit whenever possible

- work from home instead of driving to work if your employer supports
"teleworking"

- exercise in the morning before air quality hits unhealthy levels

- avoid the use of charcoal lighter fluid and barbecues
