[Yolobus Public Announcement] March 15 Yolobus detours due to Shamrock'n Half Marathon

Yolobus Public Service Announcement

 

YOLOBUS DETOUR

When: Sunday, March 15, 2009, 7:30am until Noon

Where: West Sacramento, Downtown Sacramento

Why: Shamrock'n Half Marathon

Several Yolobus routes and bus stops will be affected due to road
closures for the

Shamrock'n Half Marathon. Please be advised of temporary detours and bus
stop

closures during the event.

Areas not being serviced by Yolobus during half-marathon:

* West Capitol Avenue east of Jefferson (including W. Capitol/Merkley
Transit

Center)

* Lighthouse Drive east of Douglas

* 5th St and 3rd Street, south of B St (West Sacramento)

* Capitol Mall and the Tower Bridge

* N St to 8th St (downtown Sacramento)

All bus stops within this area will be temporarily closed.

NOTE: Temporary West Sacramento Transit Center location will be on
Merkley at

Westacre (next to Raley's, across from Post Office).

Eastbound Detour (from West Sacramento to Downtown Sacramento)

Routes 40, 41, 42B, 240

Approaching West Capitol and Jefferson, buses will head south on
Jefferson, turn left

onto Capitol City Freeway east, exit I-5 north, exit J Street, turn
right on 9th Street, turn

right on L Street, and perform the Westbound detour - see below (route
42B will

continue to L at 13th Street).

Westbound Detour (from Downtown Sacramento to West Sacramento)

Routes 40, 41, 42A, 240

Buses will head west on L Street, turn left on 3rd Street, turn right on
P Street, take I-

80/US-50 ramp to San Francisco, exit Jefferson, turn right on Jefferson,
turn left on

Merkley, and service temporary Transit Center on Merkley at Westacre
(next to Raley's,

across from Post Office).

For Route 35 Riders:

Route 35 will begin and end on Merkley at Westacre (next to Raley's,
across from Post

Office).

To transfer to downtown Sacramento: Riders going to downtown Sacramento
should

disembark on Westacre at Merkley bus stop and transfer to the Route 240
bus stop on

West Capitol at Westacre (in front of Valero gas).

For Route 41/Lighthouse Drive Riders:

Route 41 will detour as Lighthouse Drive will be closed. Bus will
continue east on

Cummins, turn right on 6th, and turn right onto Sacramento Avenue.
