Yolobus Public Service Announcement

This is an update regarding the Fix 50 Caltrans project.

The "Fix 50" project has been rescheduled to take place April 22nd
through June 25th. Because an elevated section of U.S. 50 between 18th
and 24th Street needs to have major work, it is anticipated that several
freeway segments and streets in Sacramento and Yolo will be impacted.
Eastbound 50 work will occur April 22-May 21, while Westbound 50 work
will be May 27-June 25. As you might guess, there will likely be
traffic delays on U.S. 50, Interstate 80 and I-5, as well as many local
streets, especially during the Eastbound 50 work. Caltrans and the Yolo
County Transportation District would like to encourage you look at the
following Caltrans web site: www.fix50.com. We encourage you to look
at flex time, mass transit, carpooling and ridesharing.

Other freeway overlay and construction projects have reportedly been
delayed until after the Fix 50 project.

Yolobus plans to do the following:

*	Woodland:

	*	On weekdays from April 22nd through May 21st, we plan to
run an extra Route 45 bus trip from Woodland to Sacramento in the
morning and back in the afternoon.

*	Davis:

	*	We will be selling Capitol Corridor train tickets in
sheets of 10 for $3 per ticket ($30 total). Those tickets will be valid
only on weekdays and only for certain commute hour trips. We will make
these tickets valid from April 22nd through June 25th. There is a limit
of 80 tickets (8 sheets) per rider. We hope to start offering them for
sale around April 16th. We plan to begin selling them at the Farmer's
Market in Davis starting Wednesday, April 16th, as well as at the Davis
Amtrak station in the mornings starting April 21st.
	*	On weekdays from April 22nd through May 21st, we plan to
run an extra Route 232 bus trip from Davis to Sacramento in the morning
and back in the afternoon.
	*	We've arranged for Unitrans to offer free rides from
April 22nd through May 21st, including Saturdays.

*	West Sacramento

	*	On weekdays from April 22nd through May 21st, we plan to
run an extra morning Route 39 trip from Southport to Sacramento, plus
the reverse of that in afternoons.
	*	On weekdays from April 22nd through May 21st, we plan to
extend Route 340 to the West Sacramento transit center and run multiple
peak hour trips between the transit center and downtown Sacramento.
Some trips will be extended to the Sacramento Amtrak station. Some
afternoon Route 340 trips will be operated into the early evening. We
plan to not charge a fare on the Route 340 for rides to or from the
transit center.
	*	For local West Sacramento Routes 40, 41 and 240, if we
find the buses on these routes stuck in traffic, we may end the routes
at the transit center and have our riders transfer to the frequent Route
340 service. This would only happen on weekdays from April 22nd through
May 21st.
	*	For up to 31 Sacramento River Cats home games, there
will be Yolobus trips after the game from Raley Field to Southport, plus
from Raley Field mimicking the Route 40.

*	General:

	*	Extra buses and drivers will help fill in on some trips
which run exceptionally late
	*	If needed, we plan to operate an extra paratransit
vehicle to deal with delays in central and east Sacramento.

Updated announcements will be provided as we finalize our plans. Thank
you for your patience.
