<P>Today, Tuesday, August 31 is a Spare The Air Day in the Sacramento region.
<FONT color=#ff0000>However, tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1 is NOT a Spare The
Air Day.</FONT></P>

<P>Ground-level ozone air pollution is forecast to reach 135 AQI - Unhealthy
</P>
<P>for Sensitive Groups today and decrease to 85 AQI - Moderate tomorrow </P>
<P>(Spare The Air trigger is 127 AQI & above).</P>
<P></P>
<P>A Spare The Air advisory is being issued for today due to strong high </P>
<P>pressure over northern California producing very warm surface </P>
<P>temperatures, light winds, and a strong temperature inversion, trapping </P>
<P>pollution in the Sacramento region. Tomorrow, a strengthening delta breeze
</P>
<P>and cooler temperatures in the Sacramento area will cause ozone levels to
</P>
<P>drop into the Moderate AQI range.</P>
<P>The Spare The Air program is urging motorists to reduce driving and take </P>
<P>their lunches to work instead of driving out to eat. Homeowners are asked
</P>
<P>to avoid the use of gas-powered yard tools. Everyone is urged to carpool </P>
<P>to sports and recreation activities and postpone errands that can wait. </P>
