Hi all
Ok, folks, we need to have a heart to heart about the Tea Party.  We have over 100 students in the 3 band programs, and you know how many have turned in their Tea Party packets to Mr. S?  He thinks....
...less than 12.  Very disheartening.  
Our goal for this fundraiser is at least $8000, and with so few packets I'd say that will bring in about $1500-2000.  
The insufficient funds can impact purchasing new music, repairing instruments, providing additional instruction, festivals, providing trip T-shirts, and yes: even impact trips. 
It will take your child less than 20 minutes.  If you help, it will take you each 10 minutes.  Instructions are in the packet. This is the easiest fundraiser we have that everyone can do and raise a lot of money.
Having some issues with this fundraiser?  Here are some FAQ:
1. can't find the packet? let me know and I'll bring you one.2. can't get it done by tomorrow? Do it this weekend and turn it in next week.3. can't find stamps? turn it in without; we check all the envelopes for postage and can provide if needed.4. can't find 5 people to send it to? Do however many you can.5. don't feel comfortable asking friends or relatives for money? that's a personal decision for you, and we do understand this may not be for everyone (for what it's worth, many donors respond back favorably with something like: "what a clever and fun idea!").  Anyway, if you choose not to do this, please offer another way your family can help.  For example:

         Don't want to do the Tea Party but you have extra funds to donate yourself (above what you've already donated with Direct Donation)?, great!  You can make a check to DHS Band Boosters (write "Tea Party" in the memo line), and mail it to PO Box 73522 Davis, CA 95617.  (When considering how much to donate: the average that each Tea Party family brings in is about $250.)
        Don't have extra funds but can donate your time? Great!  I've had no volunteers yet to offer to lead a business ad solicitation or Facebook fundraiser.  And there are many more restaurant fundraisers that are easy to set up.  And when we ask for volunteers for future events, then sign up.

To those of you who have already jumped in and have turned in your Tea Party packet, or are instead participating with your additional financial donation or volunteering your time: You know who you are and I thank you very much.
I really do appreciate the thanks that I've received for setting this up:  But I can't do it by myself.  I'm just setting it up: We need you to participate.
