Hi all,

May is quickly approaching and we are very busy with multiple performances and events. Please make notes in your calendar and plan on enjoying our last four weeks of the 2016-17 school year!

Tuesday, May 2nd: Senior Concert: All bands perform.
Call Time: 6:00pm
Concert Begins: 7:30pm
Attire: Formal Concert Attire

Wednesday, May 3rd: DHS Band Boosters, 7:30pm at DHS PA-3

Saturday, May 6th: Festival of the Arts, Central Park (An email with these details went out on April 21st)
Performance Times:
12:30pm - 12:55pm: DHS Jazz Band
12:55pm – ~1:30pm: DHS Combined Symphonic and Concert Bands

The call time for the DHS Bands (ALL MEMBERS from Concert, Jazz, and Symphonic) is 12:00pm (NOON).

Attire: Everyone will wear their Blue DHS Band Polo and blue jeans. You do not need to wear a specific type of shoe, but you may not be barefoot for this event.

Everyone is responsible for bringing the following on their own to this event:
            • Musical instrument
            • Sheet music
            • Additional equipment, as necessary (e.g. sticks, mallets, mutes, etc…)

Friday, May 12th: California State Band and Orchestra Festival at the UC Davis Mondavi Center
Symphonic Band Only Performs

Itinerary:
Arrive in DHS Room PA-3: 10:15am
Load vehicles and depart: 11:00am
Arrive at UC Davis: ~11:20am

We will be dropped off on Old Davis Road, next to the Mondavi Center. Mr. Slabaugh will check the ensemble in while everyone else unloads the vehicles. Please wait for instructions at the drop off location when Mr. Slabaugh returns from the check in.

Lunch: 12:00 to 12:30pm – Please bring your lunch, as there are not many places to purchase food and drink at the Mondavi Center. We will eat in the Mondavi Center courtyard, weather permitting. If you need assistance, please speak with Mr. Slabaugh individually.

Enter Warm up room: 12:45pm
Performance Begins: 1:25pm
Ensemble Formal Photo: 2:00pm
Load the vehicles at Mondavi Center: ~2:30pm
Depart UC Davis: ~2:45pm (approximately)
Arrive at DHS: ~3:00 (approximately)

Saturday, May 13th: DHS Jazz Combos at Farmers Market
Jazz Band only
Arrive at 10:45am for set up near the Oak Tree. We will begin playing at 11:30am. You will need to bring all equipment necessary for this performance.
Attire: Everyone will wear their Blue DHS Band Polo and blue jeans. You do not need to wear a specific type of shoe, but you may not be barefoot for this event.

Tuesday, May 16th: Combined Concert and Symphonic Band rehearsal for Tour, 8:00pm-9:30pm.
All concert and symphonic band members are welcome to attend and earn +30 “You Choose” points, whether they are participating in the tour or not.

July 4th: Fourth of July Kiddie Parade
Everyone in town come and play some Pep Band music for this annual Davis event! It is in the morning and is very fun. More details to follow via email.
