SPORTS PHYSICAL PAPERWORK NIGHTS:  October 23 & 24: 6-8pm in the North Gym lobby. Turn in your completed paperwork and receive your athletic clearance card to present to your Winter coach on the first day of tryouts.

**If your student participated in a Fall sport, their concussion testing and paperwork clears them for the whole school year. If they choose to participate in a Winter sport, they need to come by the DHS Athletics Office or come to the paperwork night to pick up a copy of their clearance and emergency cards to give to the Winter coach.

-Hey Blue Devils!  There is a UNICEF Meeting today Friday, September 28th at lunch in P-20.

-CSU Chico Norcaliocious Trip!  The City of Davis is taking students to CSU Chico this weekend but have room for six more students.  The trip costs $65. and includes transportation, college tour and lunch. -Lecture Series:  Interested in the field of Biomedical and Biomechanical Engineering?  You are invited to join the Healthcare Careers Club on Tuesday, October 2 at lunch in the Career Center to hear Dr. Kyriacos Athanasiou discuss helping joint cartilage repair itself using tissue engineering approaches.  Stem cell sources will be discussed showing that cartilage regeneration is becoming a controllable problem.  D. Athanasiou, father of two DHS seniors, is a Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Orthopaedic Surgery, the Child Family Professor of Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering at the University of California Davis.

-If you are a club, sports team or group on campus and are interested in participating in the homecoming day parade, come to C-4 and pick up both an application for participation and permission slips for all those wishing to take part in the parade.  All applications must be turned must be turned into C-4 by October 5th.

-Join us for the first meeting of the Teen Health Awareness Club on Tuesday, October 2nd at lunch in Ms. Moriarty's room S-5.  We will be discussing health care issues important to us all and organizing programs to benefit the school community.  We hope to see you there!

-Attention all Seniors! Senior ads are now available in the Front Office and are due starting in October.  Senior quotes and senior portraits need to be completed and turned in by October 15th.  For more information, go to our yearbook website at: dhsyearbook.wordpress.com.

-Hey Key Clubbers!  Want to go to Six Flags for Fall Rally?  Come to S-12 with $29.00 TODAY FRIDAY for final sign-ups.  Today is also the last day to order t-shirts for $9.  Have a beautiful day!

-The DHS Band Boosters and volunteers from the DHS Band students are selling tickets for a raffle.  The Grand prize is the very popular Google Nexus Computer Tablet.  Other cool prizes being raffled are tickets to the Mondavi and gift certificates from Best Buy and Yolo Berry.  The drawing will be held during the Davis High School Jazz Band Performance at the Jazz and Beat Festival on 10/20/12.  Ticket holders do not have to be present to win and tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets.  There are $10 gift certificates for Lamppost Pizza on each raffle ticket as well!  Come and hear the DHS Jazz Bank on 10/20/12 at University Commons Plaza at 5:00 pm and maybe win a great prize!

-CSFers!!! Thanks for registering for the Fall 2012 Semester!  We will be starting with the first general meeting this Friday, at lunch in room P-13 (Ms. O'Brien's room).  You will meet the officers, learn about the club and most importantly, learn about community service opportunities.  See you then!

-Seniors:  If you did not pick-up a packet at the Assembly, please stop by the Front Office for your Senior 2013 Graduation Guide.  It includes cap, gown and tassel information along with Graduation announcements.

-Seniors and Juniors:  If you would like to order a class ring, please stop by the Front Office to pick-up a brochure.

-Davis High School is holding its second annual Mini College Fair!  Colleges from across the country will be ON THE QUAD AT LUNCH ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 1 to provide information and answer questions about their college.  Colleges that will be represented at the fair include University of Arizona, University of Reno, Colorado Mesa, Johnson & Wales, Loyola University Chicago and more! Come to the quad at lunch on Monday October 1 to take advantage of this great opportunity to get information about colleges you're interested in!

-Picture Retake:  Picture retake will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Library West Conference Room.  You must bring your unwanted picture packet that you received in order to take your new pictures.   All new students that took pictures in the Library, please come and take your picture on October 2 so that you will be in the Yearbook.

-Seniors! You must take an official Senior Portrait in order to be featured in the yearbook! You do not have to buy a package, but you must take a photo. -Davis Senior High School is seeking a parent to serve on the School Site Council for the 2012-2013 school  year.  The School Site Council discusses ways to improve student achievement and meets at Davis Senior High School on the third Thursday of each month at 3:00. -Do you like helping others and want the chance to make a difference in your community?  Sign up for the National Honor Society outside room S-12 this week.  Just bring your official second semester transcript from last year with a GPA of 3.4 or higher, $5. and your enthusiasm!  Hope to see you soon!
