Davis Community Network Board of Directors Meeting
December 20, 2010 at 5:15 p.m.
City Computer Lab, A Street, Davis, CA
Members Present (9): Bill Buchanan, Tsui Chang, Jim Frame, Teri Greenfield, Anne Hance, Russ Hobby, Steve McMahon, Jan Meizel, Kimball Sargeant (Chair),
Members Absent (2): Robert Nickerson, and Richard Yamagata.
1. Call to Order 5:17 p.m. by President Kimball Sargeant
2. The agenda was approved by consensus
3. Public comment: None
4. The minutes of the 12/20/10 regular board meeting were approved by consensus
5. Status Report of Officer Nominating Committee
Jim Frame reported that Bill Buchanan has said he is willing to be nominated for Vice president. No Presidential candidate has yet stepped forward.
6. Status Report of Board Nominating Committee
The members whose terms end in February 2011 will be each be submitted for re-election to the board for an additional two-year term: Tsui Chang, Jim Frame, Anne Hance, Steve McMahon, Kimball Sargeant, Richard Yamagata.
A bylaw revision is proposed that will allow a DCN paid staff member to be elected to the board. The title of DCN's one paid employee was confirmed as "Office Manager."
7. Computerworld Honors Program
Bill is working on this and gathering information from board members in order to submit the application by the January deadline: January 21, 2011.
9. Committee reports
RAC: Jan Meizel reported four applications had been received this month.
There was discussion of the difficulty in determining how recently a SimpleSite has been updated. Steve will send Jan Meizel (RAC Chair) a current list of SimpleSite homepage changes and can provide RAC members with login permissions when requested.
Web Team: Steve is working hard to catch up after recent travel and sickness.
OPC: Teri reported that the committee is continuing work on the City Media Grant Proposal.
