DCN Board Minutes October 2011
Davis Community Network Board of Directors Meeting
October 18, 2011, 5:15 pm
City Training Room, A Street, Davis
Members present (7): Tsui Chang, Sheila Evans, Jim Frame, Anne Hance, Teri Greenfield, Jan Meizel, Richard Yamagata
Members absent (5): Bill Buchanan, Russ Hobby, Steve McMahon, Robert Nickerson, Kimball Sargeant.
1. President Teri Greenfield called the meeting to order at 5:18 pm
2. The agenda was approved as distributed - by consensus
3. No public comment
4. The minutes of the Sep. 20, 2011 meeting were approved by consensus
5. City Grant (Sheila, Teri, Tsui)
Sheila reported on expenditures to date and will prepare the information needed to update the spread sheet that shows expenditures by grant category. Discussion followed about the progress on the products required by the grant. These are proceeding. There was also discussion regarding the video being produced to accompany the District Dollars website. This too is proceeding on schedule.
6. Recruitment Topics
The Nominating Committee is re-activated and Russ Hobby and Kari Peterson are charged with confirming board members' terms and their willingness to continue serving on the DCN Board. The committee should also bring names of prospective (new) board members to the next meeting.
7. Committee reports
The RAC has a request from a new group and needs to confirm with the applicant that the group has stable leadership and contact information.
Classes are going well.
