Business

Classes

Classes have begun; registration so far is light. Bill asked what we can do to better publicize.

We haven't been doing Facebook updates as much. We'll ask Tsui if she's willing to keep that fresh.

We should mail to the mailman, simplesites, calendar admins. Steve said he would look into a way to routinize pulling that information. If done soon enough, we can get a mail out for the existing schedule.

Publicity for hacking class

Brainstorming about panel possibilities and topic areas. Possibilities for getting some news coverage in advance. Bill will pass ideas to Teri.

Celebrate Davis 2013, on May 16

Do we have enough people to do this? What can we do at the booth?

Steve will check bandwidth and whether Google + hangout will work for Tsui.

Rob suggested we could offer some free Internet advice.

Steve can demo new calendar/ss.

Having a white board would be nice. Steve has one; Sheila has an easel.

Network room update

Rob detailed how the network services are divided up now that Omsoft is no longer directly provisioning DSL. (They're now provisioning that through Sonic.Net). The DCN/Omsoft network is much the same. Services to the city should be unchanged or better.

Committee reports

RAC has approved a couple of calendars.

Web team: Steve is working on integration of new calendar and new simple sites.

Publicity: lots already reported on during meeting. Bill's speaking project has generated some interest.

Announcements

Rob talked about a "Davis Maker Space" that's in the works. A place to create art, tech, things. Have a lease in a space downtown. Possibilities for things like drop-in repair café.
